Asics Gel Resolution 8

No matter how terrible they can be the shoe design is a misunderstanding itself. I see in tennis industry we need to stock up on everything as anything new is just worse and worse. First GP Turbos, then Nike/Adidas apparel, then these shoes …
How can even anyone approve such shoe to go into production.
Couldnt agree more

Luka's getting one afaik though. Also has his own PE Jordan 36s and some that are being sold to the public now. I have the blue ones myself but was kind of iffy about buying them. Probably going to resell at some point.

Looks maybe a bit too futuristic, but the color combo is fine imo. Curious what the other colors are like.

Man, I’m saying how it works. Maybe you won’t suffer it personally, but from shoe construction point of view people can get injured by playing tennis in it.
Your ears are blocked. What I'm trying to tell you is that running shoes are designed for running and what do you do on a tennis court; you run. Tennis shoes have all these things added to them that only weigh you down and they are gimmicks. Designed to rob you of money.

I get what you are trying to tell me but you are wrong. Running shoes are made to run forward. Tennis shoes are made to run not only forward, but also backwards and side to side. Support ankles and heels. You just can’t play tennis or basketball in running shoes. Of course you can but on your own risk. Go ask first doctor about this and you will get the same answer.

A norrmal doctor may not but a podiatrist will

Ok. In that case can you recommend a very very light weight tennis shoe ?

I wear running shoes to play tennis. They are lighter.
You are a fool.
Roll your ankle one time, and you will wish you never used running shoes. Also the sole is designed and has proper rubber composition designed for a tennis court. Do as you wish, but do not suggest your idea of running shoes to others for tennis.
The Asics shoes are very light, like the gel challengers, those are comfortable right out of the box, and light for tennis shoes, as I prefer a light shoe myself, as I like to run and can cover the court well.
BTW Nobody's ears are blocked as you say. You have a terrible demeanor.

Sage advice. Please wear proper tennis shoes for tennis. However, when playing on synthetic grass courts, which are slippery with all the sand, I wear trail running shoes. Trail running shoes have support to guard against ankle rolling.

will refrain from buying more GR8s for now as I have 3 usable pairs left.
This in itself is a gamble based on the assumption that you would like the GR9 better.

You will regret not stashing more 8s if the 9s turn out to be a mismatch for you.

I’m hoping the GR8’s will get discounted or something when the GR9’s get released

I have been wearing Asics Gel Resolutions (GR) for approximately 15 years and have had zero shoe or foot issues. I ordered two new pairs of GR8s, and I must say I'm disappointed with two things:

1. The non-flexible straps integrated into the laces are an absolute killer. After 30-45 minutes of playing, I had to stop playing due to the pain the straps caused on the top of my feet. To fix this issue, I conducted surgery on my shoes and removed the straps.

2. The laces need to be much longer. I like my shoes to be a little loose, and I could barely tie my shoes. Also, the diameter of the laces is very thin. I replaced them with longer and flat shoe laces. I think the original thin laces cause additional pinching vs. wider flat shoe laces.

The GR8s are now comfortable. That said, we should NOT have to jump through these hoops to make $140 shoes comfortable.

I agree 100% with the laces, I replaced them with longer ones and the shoe is now much more comfortable and stable as I can use all the holes for lacing

Why does a shoe company change a great shoe to something that is horrible to wear? WHY???

In general GR8 are highly regarded shoes, if not the best in the market. Did you hear about something like shoe break in? after 30 mins someone judges they are not comfortable??? It means someone never had any tennis shoes, almost every pair needs break in period.

Does Solution speed ff2 has same as resolution 8 tongue? I have problem with resolution 8 tongue, I feel pain after even short period of play
Same sort of pain... But to avoid it, you just need to lace smooth. Not hard. And the pain disappear. Especially when the shoe break in a little bit.

Tried to lace smooth, but still. I have resolution 8 clay, no problem with those, bought for hard court without researching and now after few weeks I simply hate it.
