Asics Gel Resolution 8

Why would they use different fabric in this colorway of the shoe? This is my first time trying out the shoe and I bought this version. Unfortunately I'm getting major heel slippage because its all nylon where the heels are..

I had the normal lining on GR8 and it wore away by the heel

It got worse and filed a warranty claim and it got approved in about an hour.
Unfortunately, Asics.com is all out of GR8's in my size

what do?

the voucher for a replacement expires in 6mos. Maybe I'll be able to score some GR9's?

Can anybody compare the gel challenger 13 to the gel resolution 8? What was the durability and stability and support like compared to the resolution?

Anybody???
Less, less, and less.

But more comfy and low to the ground feeling. That has been the Challenger manifesto for years. 80% of the shoe for 30-40 bucks off.... at the cost of the outsole warranty.I would say it is perfectly fine for competitive recreational play and I am loving mine.

So when you mean less, you mean features I presume? As the challenger 13 won’t have that stabilizer thing on the inside, and a smaller dynawall on the outside.

Yes. I edited my post. Its softer and lower to the ground. Which I personally like. I havent worn through mine yet but at the rate I am going they wont last 6 months

I have both. Initial feeling when putting on challenger - lighter, a bit wider in the toes, closer to the ground, less plush. I’d say same stability as gel resolution. My feet feel much toastier in challenger which is weird, cause it feels/looks like it should be more breathable…

I wish I can say I like the FF2's at least as much as I love the GR8's
Maybe you can try the 3's and see what the update is about or even resell them or trade for the G8. I live now in Colombia and here we have plenty of the G8 but in Clay outsole and the Tokio colorway in all court. Wish I could help you getting ones

Wait how do you know?
The guy on Tennis Spin youtube channel back on august sneak the launch date of the Court FF3 for SP22 (That is aparently true) and also said the update of the GR will be expected for fall of 22.... But as most of the new items there might be some delay or the guy might be wrong

Since ASICS supply sucks right now and for the foreseeable future, is the KSwiss Ultrashot a good alternative?
Ultrashot 2 I ended up selling because of the bad tongue design (thin with no cushioning) which made it uncomfortable. Also I would occasionally get blisters.

Just ordered the Asics Res 8 in the somewhat obnoxious Tokyo design (but they were $20 cheaper than the other colors). I guess the color will stand out along with my newer Radical sticks. But I noticed that my foot doesn't lock in real well, so I tried using the runners loop. The laces are almost too short to use all of the eyelets.

I skip the second to last eyelet and go straight to that last one in the rear. Seems to work as well, if not better, than going with a runner's loop. Also change to longer laces so I can really get a good pull on the laces to help - thicker laces also help a tad with the comfort overfoot.

The price has gone up $5 on the new models. I got a new pair recently and don't love the upper material...it seems thinner and folds more than some of the older pairs I have.

For me the understated "French Blue" was my favorite colorway. Wonder what the next ones on offer will be.

Speed ff 2s IF THEY were more durable it’s not even a contest :)…. you ll be amazed how comfortable they are.
I have the orange ones in clay

I need more stability I think. Ff2 supports my foot a little less when I run and get wide shots in open stance

Yeah, my clay Speeds are almost cooked and I do think I may end up getting GR8 clays as well. For sure it’s the more sure base, although of course I do like the lightness and better slip-on comfort of the speeds. Also waiting to see if by any chance the FF3s, which should be released soon, are worth having a look at.

I have the Novak shoes for hard court and I would describe them as in between speed FF and GR8. I’m not a fan. Barely have worn them. Which is surprising considering the way Novak moves. Maybe I’m more like Gael :p

We’re like minded. I tried them for a bit and although they seem like a split, I find them to be just a little weird and I’d rather either extreme of the GR8 or speed. But I loved the FF1s so have some slight hope they could behave a bit more like that one. Tennis spin dude once said the FF3 will be more like the FF1. But then again the tennis spin guy can’t really be trusted.

Gel Res are the best. I have this color way but for clay, haven’t used them yet
Especially in clay, due to the deep thread.

But:
a) They can give you bad blisters due to a stich under the tongue. Especially if you have hammer toes.
b) The linning is way worse then in Nike or Addidas, as it wears out pretty fast in the heel area.
