@innoVAShaun any official pics floating around yet?
I have been wearing Asics Gel Resolutions (GR) for approximately 15 years and have had zero shoe or foot issues. I ordered two new pairs of GR8s, and I must say I'm disappointed with two things:
1. The non-flexible straps integrated into the laces are an absolute killer. After 30-45 minutes of playing, I had to stop playing due to the pain the straps caused on the top of my feet. To fix this issue, I conducted surgery on my shoes and removed the straps.
2. The laces need to be much longer. I like my shoes to be a little loose, and I could barely tie my shoes. Also, the diameter of the laces is very thin. I replaced them with longer and flat shoe laces. I think the original thin laces cause additional pinching vs. wider flat shoe laces.
The GR8s are now comfortable. That said, we should NOT have to jump through these hoops to make $140 shoes comfortable.

... so do the menWomen get "new 8s" instead of 9s...
... so do the men

That looks to be the case - as with any next gen shoe.so the 8s and 9s will sell alongside each other?
There's a sample pair on e.b.a.y currently
so Asics has 2 chances to screw up before
I found that black and blue sample one. It looks hella ugly. Not just the color but the design of the shoe from the side is ugh! Glad I stocked up on the GR8's. I have enough to last me through the GR9 and GR10 so Asics has 2 chances to screw up before I'll need them to make a good one again.
Your collection is impressive, I saw them in the GR8 thread.
My clay GR8s arrived today and these shoes feel great. I guess playing in them will tell the story but they fit very well and feel significantly lighter than I was expecting. I have an all court set headed to me too and think I’ll keep them as well.
woof.. yeah teal would've been much better. I still can't get behind their color choices or else i'd pick up a pair already.... so do the men
note: I think teal laces would have been a better play

Not sure why they used black as a base color. These are not nearly as good as the noosa inspired 4. Would’ve been much better just doing those over again on the 9. Torn on these but may end up getting them anyway. That looks to be the case - as with any next gen shoe.
Edit: Likely this is the last color way released of the 8s. All new releases will be 9s in Jan 23 and beyond. (#speculation)
Note that those are pre production samples per the tag.IRL photos from the BAS:

I like the look of them.
Why 'not for sale' when they are already on Asics.com site & with price. Just that 'Coming Soon' , since not released yetAnyone kinda think these look like the 'not for sale' Andy Murray Under Armour Clutch fit silhouette??

Watch them be relisted at a higher price![]()
I have so many shoes at the moment that I won't need a pair for quite a while. The joke will be on them if the prices are too high. I'll just wait them out and buy them on sales and heavy discounts.
I still have lots of unused 40% off coupons.
Lucky you.
Wasn’t luck. Took me 20 years.
As a clay court user I have to ask, wouldn´t that "non marking" part on the back foot of the outsole make it less grippy??? They always went full herringbone, not sure why they changed. All 3 of the men's colors come in a clay version:

The official marketing says:I'm presuming that it's an air-channel which is designed to increase the air flow under foot, which would improve the sliding capabilities of the shoe. Maybe they received complaints that the shoe was sticking too much, or that clay was getting stuck too much on the shoe, and this will help it come off easier and make the shoe slide/perform better.
The other possibility is that since the "all-court" version has this groove (for the reasons mentioned previously), it was just easier to keep it with the herring-bone version, and it didn't make that much difference.
Just thoughts.
