Might not look that weird in a different color way (besides black).
Maybe, and preference on looks is completely subjective, but I've seen two color ways now and it just looks bad. Also, I'm not an Asics hater, I think the ff3s are some of the best looking tennis shoes out

Looks like the Greyish Purple/Nova Orange is the only men's color that comes in Wide so far. The Ube/White as seen above is the only women's Wide.

Interesting that they're on the X now but their outlet store (by me at least) stocks new 8's.

I like a couple of them. The grey/purple and the forrest green look really good imo. The black with orange is solid as well.

I just wish that was a dark blue and not purple.

Black/orange seems like a special colorway for Halloween.

dang I see Haddad Maia is wearing the prototype black grX now too. I hope they do decide to eventually sell the vader colorway in the future.

I've tried more than 4 or 5 shoes from different Asics models or manufacturers, so far the GR were the best ones for me. I'm using Mizuno's Wave Enforce Tour now but I'm just waiting the GRX clay version to be released to purchase one.

Japanese channels have released their first looks of the Gel Resolution X.

The heel area is now FF Blast+, supposedly softer and more cushioned than the 9.

Dynawall now wraps around the heel, dual lace eyelets for narrower feet, raised medial ankle guard for protection.
The design is getting a bit too busy for my tastes, will stick with the 9s until I can't find them.
But with all these new features, maybe the X performs and feels better?

As someone who also runs, and has done a couple marathons, they FF Blast+ addition, if it's similar application as their running shoes, will be very bouncy and responsive. Could be a big win!

I managed to grab a pair the other week, now tried them out for a couple of hours. Interesting to compare my experience with reviews popping up on Youtube.
I was mostly intrigued by how "luxurious" they felt and by that I mean rigid and well made. The stability and width in the side wall for side-steps and such was so stable.
I guess that could be something some people would translate as clunky, but for me who like to feel locked down to the floor it was really nice not have to worry about an ankle roll.
Went down half a size since I have narrow feet and they are definitely wide in the toe box, hopefully the lacing will be enough to hold me in place as I break them in.
Initially, great experience for my playing style, as FDZ said, they are built like a tank. Will have to get used to the feeling of mid height but fun that they are making an effort to evolve.

Final note, as a player in Sweden, who dont have to worry about topical hot weather too often, mostly play cool indoor games, the thickness and hard upper might not be as noticable temperature wise.

The Court FF3 shoes felt clunky on my feet and I‘ve been using the GR9s. Hope this design is not closer to the FF3.

GR9s have been such a perfect shoe for me that I’ve barely thought about what I’d do when we run out of them. Great all around performance, connected and stable feel, nothing quite like them imo. Early reviews make me think they’re targeting way better players than me who need the shoe to survive a grenade, at the cost of the unique mix of features I loved.

Not that I need a new pair right now but I might be diving into shoe review land to see where else I should be looking later this year

If you like Asics shoes, like me, the best alternative is most likely the other two main model lines of their brand.

Just tried them on at the store, total no go for me from GR9, they basically feel like the Court FF3, chunky, it felt heavier holding it than the CFF3 there as well, almost too much cushion and lacks the feel of connection to the ground
