Asics had a Gel Resolution in 2002

Looking back at an old issue of Tennis Week magazine, a 2002 issue, there is an ad for ******** which shows photos of the Asics Gel Resolution and it looks very very similar to the Resolutions out today. Is the new Resolution basically a second issue of the old ones from 2002?

Yes. The Gel Resolution shoe has been around for a long time. The design you reference from 2002 is a softer shoe than the current version(s).

Think it was earlier than that - I recall buying a pair in 1998 or 1999 sometime around then, very rubbery they were...

I have a couple pairs of the GR2 sitting in my closet. IMO the best of the GR line. The cushioning in the GR5 doesn't last nearly as long as the GR2.
