ASICS shoes?

I’m looking to buy a pair of ASICS for tennis soon. If anyone has any thoughts on how these three compare to each other that would be great:
Gel Challenger 14
Gel Resolution 9
Gel Resolution 8
FF3
Gel Dedicate 8

I’ve heard a lot of different opinions but I need something affordable, reliable, and lightweight.

If you want something reliable and lightweight, go with the Speed FF3. IMO the best shoe for speedy, all court players. As for affordable, not sure your budget but I'm sure you can find a pair on sale, MSRP is $135 which is cheaper than the other 2 flagship Asics models. You could probably find a pair of the FF2s somewhere for a decent price and they are the same shoe, just a little more material and not as light. The Gel Res are a good option as well if you are a more baseline type player and prefer something with a plush cushion under your foot. They aren't as light as the FFs but for the shoe's profile they are not overly bulky and cumbersome. Not for nothing but that model has better color ways than the FFs imo.

I would avoid the budget shoes especially if you want something reliable, I've never played in either of those but 95% of budget tennis shoes are just not worth the cheap price. Better to spend more money and get an actually good product, which Asics top end tennis shoes are considered.

Honestly the Challenger and Dedicate are excellent shoes for starting out. Some of the older folks I have played with move excellently in them for their level.

Considering that you're effectively paying half the price of the Resolutions for the Challengers to get about 80% there in terms of durability and stability, they're a very good deal.

Any of those, if they fit comfortably, would be a good shoe for you.
Fit and comfort are the main things in a tennis shoe.

The Challengers are very comfortable right out of the box, and are very light weight. Durability is decent as well. I don't even think about my shoes when I am on the court, and that's a sign of a good shoe for me. Price point is good as well.

I still use an older version of the Gel Challenger (12 I think), usually during practice. To me, it’s just a more plusher, more forgiving (less stable) Gel Resolution. It has great durability for its price.
