I still like the court speed's much better. It looks like these will have the same problem as previous generations which is that rubbery like material that makes them slightly uncomfortable when they crease and they don't have a skid pad near the inside big toe like the court ff's do, so if you drag your feet when you slide you burn a hole in these super fast.

I’m not sure I like the fact the review said it had some of the stickiest outsoles, I don’t want to feel like I am stuck on the court.

These FF2s seem to be taking a step back towards the gel resolution 6 (or some of the older speed models) which is a plus for me. Looking forward to these.

I played with all the SSs with my favourite being the 2s and 3s. Unfortunately the FFs are a bit more plasticky and I got an annoying pop in the front upper (I tried 3 different pairs) when bending the foot.

I wonder whether this will still be the case with the FF2s, but so far I like that asics’ apparently maintained the previous versions’ DNA.

Same with me, shoe would fold and pop. Very annoying. I use them for work and not on court.
I just can't run on court with that popping.
Will not purchase those again. It is the plastic front that does not conform, as it folds and then pops.
The last Asics I purchased , and that was a good number of them as I liked the fit and comfort , as well as light weight, was the gel challengers
No popping or folding.Much better than the SS FF

In the TW folder, Chris commented that the popping and pinching were gone with this new version. Maybe that's just marketing, but he has tended to be reliable on reviews for me in the past so I'm inclined to believe him. Looking forward to hearing from people who purchase the shoes to confirm. I'm not in the market for several months yet.

Why didn't Asic add Dynawall to this model ? That Dynawall really work to help you push off sideways during quick change in directions which is critical in singles play

Initial try-on and at-home workout: I think Asics got this one right. Need court time to confirm, but thus far they feel great. Wider-than-average footer here whose benchmark shoes were the Speed 2s and original Court FFs (non Novak).

It has dynawrap, is that a different thing?

Yes it is different thing. Dynawrap is just something with lacing system that locks your foot in nicely. but Dynawall is more down below where it provides firm plastic wall that you can push off of and it springs you in opposite direction when you want to change directions explosively. You know like when you are pulled out wide with sharp cross court angle and you have to change direction to comeback into the court otherwise you left huge realestate open for your opponent to hit easy winner into..

You see that Dynawall on Gel Res 8 on the bottom. That is very very nice feature that actually works. i was hoping Asic would add that to all their shoes. but doesn't look like it

yea, it is nice. i thought it was a gimmick. but it really does help you push off in opposite direction and direction changes make easier. Only problem is that i can't wear this Gel res 8 because Heel and ankle instability with my foot. i was hoping they would put this in Speed FF2, if they did it would have been perfect shoes. I would have added little bit more weight but overall still that shoe would had reasonably light weight.

They have that 'Asics' super plush pillowy feel to them. Hard to describe but I guess that's what you mean? Similar to the Resolutions 7s ( I didn't like the 8s ). It does go away after about a month or so of near daily playing.
Why didn't you like the Res 8 cushioning ? Asic was promoting it as vastly improved version to Res 7, including the cushioning

Picked up a pair of the clay version here in Europe. I’ve been wearing the Solution Speeds since they debuted and these feel like an improvement over the FF1. I liked the FF1 fine and I never had the clicking issue or heel slippage (unlike the guy in the video review) but I did find them a little flimsy, especially compared to the SS2 or SS3. The FF2 won’t make you stop dreaming about the SS2 but they do feel more solid and substantial than the FF1. Sizing is same as FF1, cushioning seems a little plusher, still feels fast and light. (Possibly lighter than the FF1?). Fit is a bit wider, as other posters have mentioned. Biggest thing I noticed is the heel section of the outsole has been shaved down, so there’s less contact between the heel and court. You can see it in the photos. I could feel a difference when wearing the shoes though I doubt it has much effect on performance, and if you aren’t coming from a predecessor you probably wouldn’t even notice. Seems like there’s a bit more of a forward cant than the FF1 but according to Asics the heel drop is the same. Overall first impressions are positive.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on these. I was pleasantly surprised by the SS-FF1s. Surprised enough that I invested in 3 pairs. If the SS-FF2s are that good, I might make a full-time switch from Nike.

Res 8 cushioning was fine. I didn't like the feel. If you check photos of the sole and compare to the Speed FF2, you can see the outsole is a completely different shape and much wider. It's similar to the Vapors imo.

Pretty thorough review on this channel including a tear down of the shoe, he has some good reviews on other shoes as well.
I think the Tennis Pro Doctor reviews are the best ones going right now and he rated this shoe the FIFTH best available right now in one of his recent features. He loved it.

Shoes he rated higher:
4) Lotto Mirage 100
3) Nike GP Turbo
2) Adidas SoleCourt Boost
1) Asics Court FF2

There IS a form of DYNAWRAP in the Asics Solution Speed FF 2. It is noted on the Asics website, but they appear to have altered it a bit from the GR8 (which did not suit everyone well).

we are talking about Dynawall. that plastic piece on the side that helps you push off, that is game changer that they really should have put in speed FF2 and novak shoe too

Have had my Speed FF2s for a couple of weeks and here are some random thoughts (Size 12, narrow foot):

1. They feel lighter on foot than their predecessor (Speed FF)
2. The toe box is wider, but they are still on the narrow side of medium through mid foot.
3. Great hard court grip.
4. A LOT more tongue padding.
5. Still get some heel slippage unless I use all the lace holes.
6. More stability than predecessor
7. The more rounded heel cup is taking some getting used to.

Played a couple hours in the clay version.
Amazing shoes.
Best Asics model for me so far.
They are slightly more stable than the GR7 which was my favorite shoe before.
Laces are long enough to do a proper runner's knot thus I find no heel slippage.
I agree slightly narrow through the mid foot.

Anyone have any issues sliding on hard courts with these? Like to slide into wide shots on the run and drop shots but worried that the extremely sticky grip some have talked about might take some getting used to.

For those of you that went down half size in resolution 8's, same case with the the ff2's?

The Speeds do not have the same annoying bonus room off the end of the toe that the GR8s do. I would not size down. In fact I had to size up to better accommodate my wider than average foot. TTS will be ideal for most.

Agreed. I have both. Went down a half size in GR8s (10) and have my usual size in the Speeds (10.5). Perfect fits.

How are you liking them both and vs each other once you made the sizing adjustment? I still harbor some thoughts sometimes that maybe I should have sized down a 1/2 on the GR8 to alleviate the heel slippage and extra roominess at the toe, though I'm worried it would end up being too narrow on the sides. Obviously the GR8s have more stability which sometimes I wish I had a bit more of with the Speeds, even though the Speeds are rather great for what they are.
