One of your early posts you replied to me on about not exercising and working out during illness because exercise suppresses your immune system..does that include mild illnesses like a sore throat (hurts to swallow water), or did you mean something more physically ailing like struggling or almost struggling to get out of bed level?

I'll find the part in the post later on in the day if you don't get back to this before then

Thanks for the welcome back @Username_ :)

Now, it has to be said that too much training, or over training actually suppresses the immune system, the reason is your body is releasing vast amounts of cortisol and adrenaline from the adrenal glands situated above your kidneys. These are stress hormones that are designed to accelerate the heart rate to allow your heart to make the needs the oxygen needs to your working muscles possible, however these hormones also negatively impact the overall immune system, which is why it is always recommended not to exercise while you are ill, you are fighting an infection and by exercising you are damaging the one thing that is trying to make you better. So prolonged bouts of frequent training is not something I would recommend, remember exercise is a stress to the body, you get fitter and stronger when you give it time to recover and adapt. Exercise has helped my immune system immensely over the years, but even I am not bullet proof to illnesses and when I know my body is fighting an infection, unless I was training for a competition, where I simply had to train, I would avoid it.

A sore throat is fine is almost every case, it is more about you feeling off in just about every little movement you do.

Gyms are temporarily closed in my area. Any suggestions on a workout?

I simplified my workout into 2 days.
pushups
chinups
some stairs (running up 2 steps at a time)

pushups
chinups
pistol squats (bodyweight and then some added weights)

Those are solid exercises. If you can’t add weight you can get creative with your rep ranges. Try things like 1.5 reps (ex. Pull-up— up, down halfway, up, down is a complete rep), slow tempos, etc.

Add some hamstring dominant exercise if you can. Single leg deadlift, some kind of bridge variation…

search on youtube "home workout" or "body weight exercises". tons of great content ranging from strength and flexibility to cardio and endurance

Never done a single leg deadlift, but I'll give it a try.

If you don’t have bands EliteFTS is having a 30% off sale on bands right now. Best bands on the market and will give you more exercises you can do at home

Any good videos online (e.g. youtube) that you can suggest for learning how to use bands?

I am most interested in looking for weights to use bands instead of weights when I am traveling

Article with video included

Body weight video. I did a 12 week custom program from this guy 3 years ago. Bench went from 330 to 370 with like a 5lb body weight gain (220-225). Overhead press went from 210 to 230. My deadlift went from 615 to 650. He has a lot of good vids on his channel and an e book for body weight training iirc.

Which bands or set of bands would you recommend for someone like me that is about 182 cm tall? (current strength level: bench about 165 for 5-10 reps, squat 200 for 10 reps, can do maybe 12-15 chinups).

Something like this?

Id get the red, green, and skinny orange for sure. Maybe the fat orange too. Wouldn’t get the silver or blue those are strong unless you’re going to try to squat or bench with them.
