I posted this in the TW Questions, but perhaps Dennis could chime in. What would he recommend as the best Head hybrid to replace Intellitour since that has been discontinued?

intellitour is still around; at least in the UK. Intellstring was discontinued

My favourite string was Ultratour 1.20mm [white] This string played fantastic and consistent until it broke [after an initial settling in period] I can't find anything that plays similar to this string in the current Head offerings and I was wondering why it was discontinued? The string also received really good reviews which also adds to the mystery.

I was able to talk with Troy at the TW demo courts in Indian Wells. I asked him about the Boom racquet which was strung with Head Lynx Touch. Ididn't play with that racquet too much however. I told him that it looked like Prince Warrior Response. Could you describe the construction and materials that make up Lynx Touch? I'm currently using the 360+ Speed MP (black) with Hawk Touch 1.25.
Also, it was nice to see Troy, Mark, and Zsofi!

A question would be Head’s take on the trend of stringing Poly at low tension like 40lb and below. Would Head consider optimizing a string for low tension ?

Is lynx touch a new string not yet on the market?

Thanks! But i don't have Instagram.
-ahh ok,
-i have posted some hitting info on it,
-run a quick search if you want to read what i posted ?!?!?!
-just simple notes, but a more extensive testing is needed

-i'll let TW get the details out to people
-they should/would have correct/direct info for everyone to see/hear, tnx

Michelle,

Which head poly has the best playability from date strung until it snaps?

I’m constantly looking for a string that doesn’t become a stiff board or trampoline. I know they all decline rapidly but I want the least amount of drop off possible.

You seem to have enough insight into all their strings. Could you list a top string for each category:
Top string for tension maintenance: (best cross):
Top string for spin:
Top string for comfort (poly):
Top string for power (poly):
That will be very helpful. Thanks,

Were certain other strings "game changers" for them that forced Head to come up with a competitor? I'm thinking Hyper G, but I doubt you'll be able to name it.

I read somewhere that Hyper G inspired Head with Lynx Tour. Does Head think solinco is their biggest string competitor and not Luxilon?

A break down on the characteristics of each silo of polys. From my experience..

Sonic Pro: comfortable soft poly, poor tension maintenance.
Lynx: middle ground poly, medium firm, good tension maintenance, all around usability. Powerful at low tension.
Hawk: firm poly with absolute top of the range control, for big hitters and string breakers. Impressive tension militance and durability. The only string that lasts in my top Jrs Pure Aero, close to Kevlar durability.

Where the Head range gets confusing is with now Lynx Tour and say Hawk Touch, they seem to cross over characteristics, Would like to here some clarification on the differences between say these 2 and where does the upcoming Lynx Touch fit in?

Which Head poly is best as a cross for natural gut. Which is the slipperiest. From my experience Hawk round white 16G is just about the best cross for gut out of all polys on the market. Super slick and firm, doesn't dent, complements and tames the soft gut perfectly, enabling great snapback great spin.

Why is Head Lynx Tour 1.25mm so good? What does Head’s testing reveal? Control and consistency are outstanding, yet is plenty soft for a poly. Are the edges somewhat rounded, and does that contribute to the consistency? Would a round version contribute anything, or is the current design optimal? It does seem to notch quite slowly. After a two hour heavy ground stroke session the strings are only notched 5% through, perhaps less. After 10 or 12 hours, about 30% through. (I use a 66 RA 18x20.) Okay though suboptimal for practice, I try to restring by then. Tell us all you can, Head, and thank you.

PS. I normally can’t be bothered with podcasts, so please include a print version.

I’d love to know if there’s any plans for a Lynx Tour <1.25 !

@NRMM

Have you had a chance to listen to the episode posted above??

Ha ! I’m in my mobile so couldn’t spot the episode ! And when I try and play it I keep getting bumped out. Anyway I understand there’s a new string Lynx Tour Touch? I hope it lives to the same characteristics as Lynx Tour ! Great tension maintenance, ideal stiffness level .. and solves the weight and unforgiveness issues - any insights on that, Michelle ??
