Is there an age limit for requesting autographs. I would feel weird asking for an autograph from someone younger than me:)

Well, given how young all pro tennis players are, your window of opportunity for asking autographs would be pretty limited if you had to be younger than them. Age is not the issue here, the defining factor is their talent in their sport (which sure is superior to mine- and probably yours- at any age :))

No age limit. But I suspect if two fans next to each other are asking for autograph and a Pro feels like signing just one autograph, he/she will sign for the little girl/boy fan only.

There is no 'age limit'. Just go and ask!

Any player will be happy to oblige your request. Even more, if you happen to ask a non-top dog, "lesser know" player, most of the time they will be happy to see someone recognizing them at all.
Just go ahead and ask - you might be rather surprised about the friendliness of most (if not all) of the players. :)
At least that's my personal experience.

I've had a very nice experience getting an autograph from Dolgopolov a couple of years ago - the guy was funny, a little surprised to see a lady twice his age knowing about him, and he was all to happy to oblige and have his picture taken with me as well. Same nearly a decade ago with Berdych - and darn I swear I made the loveliest picture of him EVER. :p

On the other hand, I've witnessed from very close-by, 35+ women lining up for autographs from a certain top player, while they already got their shirts, caps, bags, shoes, and perhaps even their underwear  already signed TONS of times by said player.
And that's where it gets pretty obnoxious, if not downright scary... imho.

At least that's my personal opinion on this matter: nothing wrong with asking for an autograph and/or a picture, but just don't act like a stalker. ;)

^^^ good advice. I've never had an autograph. Too shy to ask. Lol. And too slow to figure out the right place to stand before they disappeared into the locker.

Why would you want someone's autograph?
Good question. :)

Well to me personally it doesn't mean anything. But for the younger generation, who apparently LIVE on FB and the like, I guess it's different... :?

Having a bit of chat with a player - just some general chit-chat, wishing him/her the best during the tournament, etc. - I just happen to like that.
But once again - do always realize that you aren't a "friend" - and never will be - of any of them, and back off as soon as you notice that a player might well have something better to do with his/her time.
It's called respecting their privacy. ;)

Yes very creppy. If they love him so much yet why do they behave like this as they actually make him feel uncomfortable.

Sadly I have come across many of these loons on twitter, I am often search players names in on twitter for news, as a result you come across fanatics. But I think it is too far for these people old enough to be the player's mum sharing pictures zoomed in on his groin, as I saw today.

There is no specific age limit but the OP is correct, you should only ask from folks older than yourself.

I got an autograph from Bobby Cox, the former manager for the Atlanta Braves about 3 years ago. I was 27. I had been a Braves fan my entire life, so needless to say, I was star struck! I was nervous, sweaty and couldn't speak coherently to save my life! I got a baseball signed and had a picture with him! Nice guy. Ended up giving the signed ball to my best friend who is also a Braves fan to give to his newborn son.

So no, if you are a fan, you aren't "too old" to ask for autographs.

I was at Indian Wells this year. Bought a seat front row, right where the players enter/exit the main stadium, so exactly where they sign autographs.

I wasn't going to even get autographs, but then I remembered that I had this really cheesy t-shirt with an iron on of Serena in a bikini looking sexy. I always wear that shirt at least one day when I'm in Indian Wells and it always gets tons of comments.

As luck would have it, I was in that seat the Tuesday when Serena played Sloan. After the match I held out the shirt to Serena who signed it without batting an eye.

I also got autographs from Berdych, Johnson, Nadal, and a few others. I held the shirt out for Federer to sign. He looked at it, had a puzzled/disgusted look on his face, and refused to sign.

The other funny thing is, I'm a 42 year old man, and security was keeping 10 year old girls away from my "prime signature spot" so I could get autographs (apparently, only ticket holders in that section are allowed to get autographs, because they paid the big bucks for those seats and got that enforced). Must say, I was more than a bit embarrassed to see the kids getting pushed back so I could get an autograph. Lucky I was drunk, so I didn't feel too bad.

Acceptble to get one at any age. What is not accepatable as adult is to scream Roger Roger sign and jump up and down, leave that to the kids.
