So, there you are - Aslan Karatsev personal racket from 2022. I saw here, on Tennis Talk, so many fakes and gossips around Aslan's racket! And now you will find all the answers and truth about the stick of one the most decorated and powerful ATP ball crushers!
So that is legendary and my favourite mold PT57A2. Im using it nowadays via Head Pro Tour 630, so as Karatsev with a Prestige 2021 paintjob! His Pro Stock mold is 3 mm shorter than Stock versions of my Pro Tour 630 Trek Font (68,6-68,7 cm vs 68,9-69 cm). Next. Under the butt cap you see - what you see. Obviously you will find not a hollow place under the butt cup.
Its 348 g even (strung, with overgrip) on the scales. Not 340, as many sourses used to inform you. A lot of lead tape. Its going all the way around under the bumper.
Also you can find special (open) strings channel endings, its the thing that tells us - PT57A2 is right here!

Thank you Once again. Another absolute gem. I am big fan of his game and it seems the racquet came lighter than the retail pt630.

The racquets at the factory come in around 280g off the machine so it’s much easier for them to make lighter than retail frames even with customization

PT57A2 is not a mold. It is the layup.
The mold of that racket is the TK57A
Next, his rackets are STANDARD length, 685mm (27"), not shorter. It could be that strings "deformed" the hoop (very soft) and "shortened" is a few mm
his unstrung weight was 312g (2020). looks like he may have added additional weight post 2020.

A technique used by Matt Ebden on his Instincts. He’s very specific about his frames.

Thank you for kind words! You are right: my own racket (standart bumper) is 347 strung with dampener (synthetic base grip + overgrip), no lead tape, no silicone. So, yes, his racket is a very light one before customization.

Maate!! I cycle up to 5,000 ks a year & I’d kill for those leg guns; genetics is funny - I’ve actually got pretty decent biceps without a lot of effort (just born with the prerequisite muscle cells in that region I guess) but I can’t swole my gastrocs to save my life!

Can we get a Swingweight measured for this beautiful stick? Thanks
Just made swingweight measurements on Karatsev's racket - its 350 official.
Just now i've visited personal Aslan's stinger (while he is playing tournaments in Russia). And this stinger told me UNBELIEVABLE THINGS about Karatsev's racket. Today i will tell you the secret about his frame.

Yeah genetics is crazy...I cannot get my quads big no matter how much I try but calves are easy. Arms, chest, shoulders are all naturally big also. Just built to be a rugby player or linebacker I guess, I just love tennis instead :)

So today i visited the most famous stinger in Russia, his name is Victor Gromov. His was named The Best stinger in Russia by Russian Tennis Federation. Was official sttinger at Kremlin Cup since the very beggining. Gromov was the man that was working with Aslan's rackets during Kremlin Cup-2021. When Karatsev gave his rackets for the first time, Gromov (as he said today) didnt believe his eyes. Aslan asked him to string his racket so the racket would change length and the width of its head! Karatsev was used to play with a racket around 1 cm wider in its head and around 1 cm shorter in its length. Gromov said that it was the first such case in his practise. Thats the story about Karatsev's-2021 racket. I hope this story will be useful and interesting for tennis fans.

All due respect, 1cm difference is simply not believable. Others would know better than me. But it is very doubtful to me at least that a racquet would survive such a difference in length and width - especially hitting balls as hard as a pro does against it. He would have been breaking those frames left and right.

Correct. A frame would not squash by that much. Even when I string frames at 90/40 lbs (50 lbs differential between mains and crosses, which I did regularly for several years), a frame only shortens by 5mm off the stringer, then lengthens by 2-3 mm within first 30 minutes of hitting.

However, the 1cm shortened length is consistent with the average of measurements taken from a series many images.

Yeah, for sure ill ask him! I wrote "around 1 cm". Gromov just show me with two fingers - how much the racket was expanded. I said to him: Wow, thats about 1 cm! He said: Yeah, something like this! So, maybe it was 0,7 cm. The fact is that Gromov never saw like this before! Why vsbabolat and dr325i are so tough to talk? I believe they are making not a very healthy atmosphere here...

So on one hand…you seem to agree that such a difference in length and width would probably not be sustainable for the frame. But simultaneously, you still claim his frame is indeed around that much shorter…and support those claims with images you “measured” with Microsoft Paint or the like? Huh? If you don’t believe a massive tension differential is causing such a difference in length (at least)…what do you suppose is causing it?

Sounds very scientific.

vsbabolat and dr325i aren’t “tough to talk.” They are in the know, and have spoken on this issue ad nauseam. Again, all due respect, I find their information and observations far more believable.

The available images show hoop aspect ratio appearing approximately the same as before, but the handle length shortened approximately 7mm.

The aspect ratio can be easily measured from images also, but I haven’t done so.

His racket is standard length before they are strung.

You went from 26 inches to 7mm. You’re all over the place.

Thats right. Before they are strung its standart 27. He said, and i wrote that, that after the racket is strung, it became not a standart one
Thank you that’s the point I’ve been making for the last 3 years. travlerajm keeps insisting his racquets are shorter. He has made wild claims that the racquet is 26 inches. Which is wrong.
