Dear members of Tennis Warehouse,

I am writing to ask for your assistance in conducting a tennis related new product development survey.

It is a project that combines sports science with smart technology and will be aimed to tennis players from beginners to advanced levels of play. Once proven successful in the survey, we aim to bring this exciting solution to the market hopefully within a timeframe of one year.

You can reach a short 8 question survey by clicking the link here: http://bit.ly/f0dZrz

On behalf of the development team, I would be highly grateful for your assistance in this project. As the more feedback we get, the more it will be helpful to our development decisions.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Best wishes,

Survey taken.

The idea has potential. The only tough part (which I mentioned in the survey) will be time-analysis and coordinating times in a match with the data.

@matt.flynn60 - could you specify on what extra info, further to that which was described on the survey page, would you like me to provide.

@bcart1991 - thanks very much for your assistance in responding to the survey. there are indeed several tricky aspects that we still need to work with the engineers. yet the primary objective with the survey is to gain awareness of the overall perception of such technology aid to tennis and we've already received some interesting (yet diverse) feedback. based on that there are also different development strategies to consider, in bringing the functionalities to sport. all in all, it's something we see good perspective in.

This sounds like it could have great potential. My biggest question is how you gather data like off-center hits and types of shots. Also, how you download the data to your pc (if it's integrated into a racket)? Both have been stated in the survey.

Good Luck,

DH

@ Darkhors - in a nutshell, there are different sensors in exploring the solutions regarding shot specifics, namely inertial measurement sensors (accelerometers) and sound sensors and possibly a combination of these. With regard to connectivity, the very first option could be bluetooth, but also alternatives to investigate.
