At Wimbledon, an in-God-mode Roger would win hands won. Tsonga would make a very deep run though, as would Fat David and Dr. Ivo

I didnt realize that people would vote for David Ferrer. Awesome player and great guy but i dont think his God mode will be enough to beat other players in God mode.

It isn't even a close call. Playing at their peak performance Federer wins hands-down. He's just got too much fire-power and 'last shot' tennis in his repertoire, too much ability to snuff opponents out of a chance.

That said, if they're each 20% off top form then it's Federer who starts to have more chinks in his armour than Nadal and Djokovic as his game is so much more offensively-minded he loses out on two fronts - hitting both fewer winners and more unforced errors.

Honestly it is so difficult to talk about players playing at their best. Some guys may look great but let's say another player discovers a weakness and all they do is hit to the weakness and the player can't hurt the opponent because his or her weakness is exploited. How can that player play his or her best if the other player doesn't allow him to?

Now if others allow this player to use his or her strengths this person may destroy them. A good example could be Edberg. Everyone knew Edberg's backhand was his great strength on his groundies so players tried to hit to his weakness on the forehand. It wasn't easy to exploit as Ivan Lendl once noted but people tried to go after the forehand of Edberg.

Edberg has had some matches in which he looked virtually unbeatable like his US Open final effort against Jim Courier but could he have done that if Courier played him differently to exploit his weaknesses? Maybe, maybe not.

God Mode....Karlovic. Meaning, every serve is an ace. Meaning, he will win every set in the tie break, because no-one will win a single point against him. In God Mode, his serve in untouchable.

Otherwise, Federer in God Mode.

I'd have to go with Federer in God mode. And let me just make definition of God Mode clear. I'm talking about top form Federer with his best movement/footwork/court positioning and at his fittest and quickest. I'm also talking about Federer firing off all off both wings and barely missing like he use too. Let's be honest, Federer is a much smarter and more experienced player at this age to be honest, if you combine that with the full set of skills he has displayed at his glory days, that's pretty hard to beat on grass. Of course, against God mode Rafa, I'm not going to say it's going to be a stream roller, since God mode Rafa's defense is out of this world, but on grass he sort of looses some of that edge has on Federer's backhand don't you think. It's going to be close, but I'd give the edge to Federer since he has the set of skills to actually dictate play on grass, and is more experienced,

That is my personal opinion, it's not for certain, it's just what I think assuming that God Mode Federer and God Mode Nadal.

Some interesting things to add is that Rafa was practically in God Mode in the 2008 final, and from my perspective, Federer showed a lot of fluctuation in form, and if it was not for him finally appearing to get it together in the important moments of the third and fourth set, it would have gone to Nadal in 3 or 4 sets. I'm not saying Federer didn't play real well, I'm just saying that form my view it wasn't the best I've seen him perform on grass.

Either way, it's always a close call between those two, you can never really tell.

Nadal himself admitted that in God mode, Federer wins hands down.

Nadal also says that his first round matches are going to be VERY tough and that he'll have to play really well to win. I think that he's got a great mentality actually for pro tennis and obviously it's working for him. When Nadal is playing his best, I really think that its very difficult for any player to beat him. Strange things can happen in a tennis match, especially in a five setter (a guy winning many more points but losing a match, etc.), but basically once Nadal got to about 22-23 and rounded out his game, I think he became the man to beat at the majors and that has continued during these last few years. I think he'll be at the top for the next few years as well.

Tsonga. In god mode his serve is huge, his drop volley is perfect, his mind is clear, his strength is unmatched...Tsonga. For example see Australian Open 2008 vs Nadal...but that's not even his full capabilities that's just really got Tsonga, GOD Tsonga now thats that match and then some..

I remember that God Tsonga match against Nadal. Sensational stuff, even Nadal just looked over at Toni and was like, what the hell is going on here?! One of the greatest single performances I have seen, with sensational all court tennis. He had all the shots that night and Nadal had no answer.

I haven't sadly seen him since in that frame of mind.

If you want to talk about "GOD" mode then my vote goes to Chuck Norris.

When "GOD" wants to grant "GOD" mode to a player he asks Chuck for permission!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know if Tsonga could play that way 20-30% of the time his results would drastically improve..

Wow, Bjorg said that? Your signature. That's amazing.

Nadal at the 2010 USO was in lucky mode.......not god mode.

Have to disagree,he did have a very easy draw but his level of play was also very high,it was the best tennis I've ever seen him play on HC save for maybe 2009 AO and 2007 IW.

I'm sure he's talking about his younger years, but yes, that blew me away, given what he's experienced out there..check out these clips.

Darn. I could only get the picture, but it wouldn't move. I'll have to look it up on another computer. Can't wait to hear it. For some reason my computer eats up speakers. I've had so many over the years and they always go out.

In my opinion, his greatest ever hard court performance was the AO 09 semi final. It was one of the best matches I have ever seen. Him and Verdasco tore the house down and rebuilt it a hundred times over in that match. I could watch that match every week and never get bored.

Historically, in the pro era....Petros Sampras. :)

Gosh why must everyone push the Petros..he goes by Pete. Gosh I don't recall once in his whole career him ever being called Petros other then at the very beginning when he was asked which does he go by and he said Pete.

God mode Federer is unbeatable, but like many superheroes his god mode would only last about 45min-90min max these days. Rafa's god mode would outlast Fed's long enough to take over during the 2nd or 3rd set.

And sorry, Federer just switched off Djoker's god mode so he won't be using god mode until he reboots.

I agree,it was an amazing match,AO seems to deliver them more so than any other slam.Shame Verdasco couldn't build more upon that terrific run,the guy always had game.

Um uh. Nadal has played great at Wimbledon every year that he participated. If he goes into god-mode, it's over for the rest of the field :).

Nadal couldn't beat Novak or Roger in God mode. When Nadal beats Novak again in his career we can talk about if he even has a 'God' mode:) He has yet to beat Novak in his prime... And I don't see him doing it this entire year.

Lol I said this was a no brainer 4 pages ago and said if you poll 5000 people this question , Federer would hit over 70%.. Still going.

Now that you nailed this one, lets do the most imp one. who are you allotting the wimbledon trophy to?

Its tough. Had Fed over Rafa if they met in the semis. 65/35..
As things stand with them only being able to meet in the final. It all depends on how Fed's semifinal goes. He's a favorite in my eyes in a match against Novak. But if he's extended he may not have the juice to perform at this best in the final as well. He's 29 not as consistent, we'll see... he really shocked me playing like 'Fed' of 4-5 years ago in Paris so have to wait to see a few matches to get an idea on the consistency factor. It will be a close final regardless, if its Federer/Nadal.

I'm giving Rafa a 5-10% chance against Novak if they meet. Possible beat down, Novak at 21 years of age played him extremely tight in Queens , this should be an easy win if that happens now.

You still did not pick a winner. IF and BUTS can be done by anyone. (eg: I cna say if Nadal plays well and if he doesnt meet X and Y, he will win. Thats not a good prediction).

Who is the ONE player that will Wimby 2011?

Those were nice, the ones on Borg. That's the first time I've heard him talk in some depth. Read a lot, but never heard him. It was nice.

Mac, ugh! I was watching a biography on Tatum O'Neal yesterday and she talked about their marriage. It was really sad.

Thanks! Very enjoyable.

What's wrong with Petros? I kind of like it.

Federer. He'd win 3 straight tiebreaks against anyone. Fed in God Mode would never lose a point on serve. Eventually all the others would lose 1 in the tb - that's all he'd need.
