I recommend picking a hotel in midtown Atlanta--there are numerous options for any size wallet (from Homewood Suites (brand new) to Four Seasons and Loews--plus the usual Marriotts, Hiltons, etc.). The tournament is in midtown at Atlantic Station (I am sure you can Google it) and is easy to get to from any of the midtown hotels--public transportation is available or depending on how far you stay, you could walk. For frame of reference, Atlantic Station is just west of I-75/85 off 17th Street and most of the hotels are on the east side--anything between 10th and 17th would be very convenient.

Midtown is also where Piedmont Park is located if you want to play some yourself while you are here. Ton of great restaurants in Midtown and if you want to go to Buckhead, you can take MARTA. Have some fun when you are here.

The Atlanta BB&T Open has changed venues. It is no longer in Norcross, it is now in town at Atlantic Station.

There are a number of hotels in Atlanta that are convenient to Atlantic Station.... If the OP does a Google Maps search on Atlantic Station and then "Nearby Hotels" there will be quite a number to choose from.

It was moved to Atlantic Station last year. A fun venue. It's in Midtown about 10 minutes from Buckhead but Bones is a good choice for massive carnivore action. If it's steak you want, you might also try Kevin Rathbun Steak (it's closer to Inman Park but about the same distance from the tennis venue, just the other direction). There are also several restaurants at the venue itself but more of the chain variety. In any event, come and have a good time.

Yes, Lifetime is undertaking pretty much a total re-build of the facility. Right now it is a construction zone with a handful of courts available for play BUT when they finish it will be absolutely amazing--I suspect the clubhouse will be open in July/August. Plus new lights and resurfacing, etc. It will be great.
