Fishy is always good for a run in the heat...in the US.
Swan song summer for Haasi, you think?

Russell vs Young had some great rallies, but Russell was just too much as Young couldn't corral his unforced errors.

1) Russell lunging for a shot

2) Young was frustrated by his play

3) It was hot out there as you can see by the sweat trail on this backhand

4) Young had a good crowd following, but couldn't put enough points together

I'm looking forward to the Hewitt match today.

another wild card for DY, another 1st round loss. Shocking!

Hallelujah! Now I don't have to worry about sitting through a crappy DY match when I go Wednesday.
When will these tourney promoters realize that DY does not deserve wild cards? If he would have had to play the qualies this week he probably would not even have gotten through.

Anyone watching the Rajeev Ram and Dimitriv Gregory match? hahah pretty interesting as one copies Sampras and the other federer :)

I was sitting front row on this one and watched them play instead of Haas/Ginepri. Ram was serving bombs the whole time and Dimitriov just looked pissed the whole time. He was definitely the most interesting player to watch with the serve-and-volley.

He did play a bit like Sampras now looking back, but he was using a HEAD racquet. He definitely had the baggy athletic shorts though :)

Wish I could be there.. Parents smartly have booked our vacations the past two years(both of which I openly expressed I didn't want to go to) on the exact date of the tournament. Starting to assume they have a gripe about my obsessiveness with tennis

Anyone else going this weekend? I hope to go to either the Semis or the Finals and possibly Fri nite too.

Well, we're going into the second round.

Second round matches for today:

Michael Russell v Kevin Anderson
Gilles Muller v Robby Ginepri
Marinko Matosevic v Yen-Hsun Lu
James Blake vs John Isner
