Pity SK couldn't make more of a match of it. It is most inconsiderate of him to spoil my wished for SK/GD final! Lool.
Anyway, good job by HH to get through to another 1000 final.

GD / AR going at it hammer and tongs. This one could go the distance from the evidence to date.

HH looked pretty good off the ground in the highlights, and to be playing smarter and more creatively than the last few times I watched his matches. Good for him. Hoping Korda can find that next gear, but if HH is going to play smart tennis, happy to see him move on.

Here comes the Rublev-Hurkacz final. Well, Hurkacz looked good against Korda and Rublev showed a little more creativity in his quarterfinal than I expected - so maybe not so bad. We'll see if Grigor can turn the semi around.

Really wanted Korda to reach the final. Oh well, maybe I’ll get my second wish.

all five matches between em played in bo3 finished with 2-0

Riblev is a great player no doubt about it but IMO the style isnt that fun to watch.
Grigor on the other hand...
Anyhow well done Hubi will be tough though if he serves well.

Once he got him by the jugular, Rublev squeezed the will to resist out of Dimitrov. It was horrible seeing GD crumble, and unable to call up his game sufficiently to make more of a match of it. Sorry that his run ended here after an excellent tournament to date.

Rublev deserved the win. When he plays free and attacks at will, his game is worth watching. I am not a fan of Hurkcaz's game so hope Rublev can win the title.

Rublev is honestly such a curse on tennis, he plays to his seeding so well so generally stops “underdogs” like Dimi, Draper, Rune etc from having great runs and providing an interesting story outside of the main narrative of the tournament… but then he lays down against the top guys dutifully like a little b1tch who knows he’s lost before he even steps on court. He’s like Ferrer or something

Rublev said how much he admires djokodal. He has so much respect for them. Therefore, it’s more difficult for him when he faces them. Their aura is massive to be fair.

Rublev will displace Sinner at No. 4 in the world if he wins the final tomorrow. Big match for the Russian!
I don’t feel he’s a number 4 player. He plays too many tournaments and loses too many matches for me to mentally accept he’s number 4 in the world. But it is what it is. I do see Sinner being ranked at least #3 at this time next year

I still believe that one day he will have a big win at a slam against a top player, and get past the QF stage.

If he doesn’t secure the fourth seed, I don’t see it happening. Medvedev, Sinner, Alcaraz and Djokovic are just levels above him.
As far as I can see, Rublev is 2-3 v Sinner, 2-6 v Meddy, and has not yet played tiny.
His win over Djok in the Belgrade Final '22 was previously mentioned. Not too bad..

Go, Rublev.
