I'm confused on the scheduling..

Is Djokovic gonna paly tonight? Hes not listed for the day time and not even listed on the rogers cup "feature matches" (I just was resorting to it to see who was playing). If not how come Nadal has to play again right after playing last night?

Uhm, I don't think that was the reason why Gulbis' was refused - it was the moment in the match. As far as I understood what was happening, the ump did the right thing and told him to wait till after his opponent's serve game. Strangely enough, Gulbis didn't need any treatment at that point anymore. Draw your own conclusions about it. ;)

The stream that I was watching didnt cut away for commercials, and after the physio came out and Gulbis told him what was wrong (the physio was massaging Ernie's right calf at the time), the physio asked for a MTO and was refused by the umpire, woh pointed out the rule that was instituted before the AO that players are not allowed to receive MTO for cramping. The umpire also would not allow the doctor to give him any pain medication for it because of the same reason. That's what the announcer reported, and the camera was showing Gulby during his conversation with the umpire (I think the ump was carlos bernardes). He was allowed to receive a rubdown (which he underwent twice) on changeovers, but no 3 minute mto.

Gulby was very angry and let his displeasure be known, then lost fairly quickly after that.

Reasons Federer is losing.

1.) He is tanking.
2.) He is scared of playing Berdych again.
3.) He is weak against serve/volley, proving Sampras > Federer.
4.) He can't handle lefty spin.

100% prooven.

Hes on the second show court not before 5. Im sure he's not complaining because he doesn't have to play in the scorching daytime heat.

Ah, the commentator on the Dutch TV said something quite different, like I said. As that fellow is a complete nitwit, he might well have said something completely wrong and your version is correct.

Commentator of the Berdych-Dolpo match insisted that it was a knee injury that bothered Berdych though. Don't know if he was right about that of course. We'll find out during Berdych's presser I guess.

What is going on here Fed

Good question. What a mess!
Of course, we should keep in mind that he always struggles a bit against players he's never played against before (on ATP level), even in his prime. But this...

OOP says "not before 5:00 p.m." on Grandstand court @ http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=4937320&postcount=248

Nalby has played 3 days in a row. It's only a week, and this is nearing the end. Friday is Quarters, Saturday Semis, and Sunday Final! :)

Micha brings memories of ol'times... such a nice classic game!

Noooooo!!!!

Davy fails to consolidate. So he's down a set and a break to Chardy.

What's been wrong with Davy lately?

I think he's still trying to find back his confidence and rhythm after his wrist injury. He's said in an interview recently that he's totally lost his confidence.
Meh.

Chardy has been playing very well so far in Toronto, though. Knocked out some pretty decent players already.

Yeah. That's a weirdity: It was his left wrist that was broken. Did you ever hear how that happened? I never did.

Now, he's been broken again by Chardy. I assumed Chardy would be way tired after his long match yesterday while Davy had a bit of a rest. Now, Chardy's serving for the match @ 5-2

Djokovic does not like the heat. Therefore his match will be played at 12midnight.

Now playing on Grandstand ...

Murray and Monfils...this has the potential to be really good...or put me to sleep...we shall see.

lol ... I think it w/b good, but then pushing doesnt bother me that much, especially when both these guys move so well. Monfils beat deBakker in straights yesterday, and he was just getting better as the match went on ... so, murray/monfils s/b a good one imo :D

Lu picking up where he left off last night, had 3 BP in Kohl's first service game, tho the German finally held. Lu serving 30 love

Uh oh ... got a foot injury during training last month ... decided to not take a mto, but rather wait until the set break.

Serves to love 4-3

That makes sense. I was just thinking that if Berdych had told the umpire to call the physio for treatment on his thigh (which is what he ended up getting, tho only one official MTO and the rest on changeovers), if he had told the umpire that, then the umpire MIGHT have advised him of the no treatment for cramping rule (cramping supposedly indicates lack of conditioning) ..... so I'm thinking that Berdych, knowing that, said it was his knee, even tho it was his thigh.

I don't know whether Berd was having cramping, but what other injury could it be when the physio gives a deep massage to thight muscles and does nothing whatsoever to the knee, including no spray, no wrap, etc.

Can't really blame TV commentators sometimes because they probably don't even know what goes on during commercial breaks, but I do blame them for kinda "making stuff up" to fill in the blanks:twisted:

=======

BTW, for the person who was asking about when Djoker was going to play ........ It won't be for a while yet. He was scheduled to start at the top of the hour, but at about 20 after, Kohly took the second set, sending the match into a 3rd set decider /// and these two have been playing rather slowly (second set took just over an hour, while the first set took about one and a quarter hour)

But often times a knee injury can be attributed to something further up the leg for example IT band etc?...

But often times a knee injury can be attributed to something further up the leg for example IT band etc?...

but then, if it were the knee, why would all the treatment be given to the thigh and none to the knee?

p.s. What's IT band?

===

wow ... suddenly, Kohly's running away with the third set 5-0
