Technically ATP has nothing to do with the French Open. It's ITF, yeah? You should have added 2010 as well.

Now I should go have some breakfast and stop being so snippy.

Cilic for the win!

Hey what u all think of the draw. Possible Federer-Gulbis rematch in the quarters and before that possible Gulbis-Soderling. Verdasco is in Nadal's quarter while Djokovic Ferrero 4th rd is likely followed by Ferrer in the quarters!

And Gulbis Cilic 3rd round And Monfils Wawrinka 3rd round possibly.

When u analyse it as a Gulbis fan its horrible!! He has: Benneteau, L Mayer, Cilic, Soderling, Federer just as far as the quarters!!

Wow another edit sorry, Murray Gasquet first round!

it's a very very good draw for nadal - he's avoided basically everyone he would have wanted to avoid (gulbis, soderling etc) and got all the spaniards on his side of the draw, looks pretty straightforward

Well, I voted Nadal. His draw looks good and he avoided every ball basher who could be a threat. I say Fed Vs Nadal final is inevitable. For sure Federer will take care of his pigeons like Soderling....

What a surprise....... everyone has a weak draw.

Not really, every draw is a tough task for Fed given that he's a mentally weak crybaby who shanks his FH and blocks his BH.

Let's see if his opponents choke enough this year to allow him to reach the finals(for the 5th consecutive year).

Murray could get some much needed grass court practice in early this year.

Well i'm looking at his quarter, I can't see who's going to take him out? The only players I have ahead of him here are Federer, Rafa, Ferrer, Verdasco, Djokovic, maybe Ferrero, maybe Gonzalez, Gulbis, Soderling, but none of those are in his quarter, it's a good draw for him to reach the semis and lose to Federer there IMO

Edit: please can someone go the the atpworld tour website and look at the homepage picture of nadal at roland garros today. What the hell is that thing coming out of his head behind him??!!

Hahaha most probably a lady with her head titled down and the photographer caught it at an awkward angle behind Nadal.

Ferrer looks like he has a nice draw, nice chance for him to make the SF. Also Murray's quarter seems quite weak, with Murray out of form, so really anyone could make the SF from there.

Federer [1] has
Lopez [27] in 3R,
Wawrinka [20] or Monfils [13] in 4R,
Soderling [5] or Cilic [10] or Gulbis [23] in QF, and
Tsonga [8] or Murray [4] in SF.

Nadal [2] has
Hewitt [28] in 3R,
Ljubicic [14] or Bellucci [24] in 4R,
Verdasco [7] or Almagro [19] in QF, and
Djokovic [3] or Ferrer [9] in SF.

Seriously, the draw looks so weak for everybody.

Ljubicic won't be a problem on clay for Rafa, and Soderling will be taken care of by Fed.

Another Rafa/Fed final in the making.

Does anybody think Gasquet can take out Murray? He won that challlenger and is in SF right now in Nice. He's playing decent and has matches to up his confidence. So what do yall think?

i certainly hope so ! :)
let's hope he won't be too tired after bordeaux and nice... that's another problem (in addition to the ranking of his 1st round opponent).

Gasquet has a horrible record at the French Open.I wouldn`t be surprised if he looses in straight sets even if Murray isn`t that good on clay

I think he can. If he'll do it is another thing, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Interesting draws. Nadal and Fed both have some challenges but over 5 sets it is pretty clear Fed vs Nadal final.

Of course in this tourney anything can happen. I don't see roddick going far, thats for sure. Yuck draw.

Can someone explain to me why Chardy is favourite to beat Hewitt first round? Hewitt is quite efficient on clay and he's a battler and chardy doesn't really have much going for him apart from his serve...

Gasquet is going to upset Murray and reach the quaters( The draw is really open in that section which so weird)....

It is like all of the best and hard players are in 3 of the 4 halves. (Federer,Djokovic,Nadal have strong players in them while Murray half is so open!)

Monfils allways has to go through Federer in the french open....If the match up occurs he will face Fed in the 4th round....They way it is going...I think monfils and federer will meet in the 3rd round in RG 2011~

Hopefully i can go next week. I'm not based too far away and it's really sunny over here!

Hope you get a chance to watch Fever =)

I don't get the Murray stuff in this thread, given his draw I think he's got a great chance of making it to the 1/4s again.

Looking at the schedule for tomorrow it`s a pretty uneventful day.A couple of french guys and not one of the top 4 seed play tomorrow

Is Gulbis a sleeper at this point? He just beat Fed, pushed Nadal to 3, then pushed Fed to 3 again. Anyone that seriously follows tennis isn't sleeping on him anymore.
