Wow some of you are really thick or paranoid about me "defending Nadal",especialy Gorecki, who for some reason, has a lot of glee when spaniards go out.
Ferrer,Verdasco are the best CC'ers in Spain behind Nadal. But only in two outta threes. In RG they have always been one level below Nadal,Fed,Djoker. But as I have said before they can make an impact in two outta threes. And if you look at their results in this clay season that's just what happened. Just these two have defeated djoker twice(dasco),soderling(verdasco),murray(ferrer) and made SF in almost CC tourney they played.
With the exception of Nadal and JCF(former RG champs),none of the rest of the Armada members today have even reached SF in RG. Ferrer,Robredo and Almagro are the only ones to have reached QF in RG. And with the exception of Nadal, most spanish guys are 4th/QF guys in most slams at best.
Slams require consistency, especially the clay slam. Nadal and JCF are the only one that could do that,to be consistent and go deep, but JCF is too old. The others, Dasco,Ferrer,Almagro,Lopez,Robredo and so on are good CC'ers(they were raised on clay) but lack the consistency to go deep in three out of five.
I don't see what's so hard to get.
