This is the 25th edition of this tournament. Florian Mayer is the defending champion. Will post the draw later.
Quite a few Spanish and French players.
P.S: The tournament has a total prize money of 1,836,658 € and is an ATP 500 tournament on the ATP World Tour.
Other former champions playing: Federer (2003-6,2008,2013-15), Haas (2009,2012), Kohlschreiber (2011 plus finalist,2008) and last year's finalist, A.Zverev.
Lots of former champions in the draw. Hope it's a good tournament.

Federer desperately needs some "ugly" wins here for his confidence on grass, like some tough matches. Not looking past Lu especially after what happened in Stuttgart. Hoping for a Fed-Thiem final

Curious fact about Federer and Zverev Sr, anyway: all their three meetings were on Quarter-Finals, all in different Outdoor Surfaces and there's a four-years gap within any of them and the following one. An eventual meeting here would cancel all of this.

I'm not sure Federer will win this tournament to be honest but he should handle Lu no problem and we'll see from there.

I actually don't mind Fed playing either A. Zverev or Thiem in the final. Both are top 5 in the race this year and had their best season till date so far. Fed has to raise his level if he were to win against either but we'll see.

LOL everybody forgot the ball was called out when Sousa had a nasty fall. Continued to play the next point after that. Then Sousa remembered it, after the game was done. And they replayed the point from 2 games back in time. Cant recall ive seen that before.

i wonder what is going to happen in halle.. had bought a full tournament pass in stuttgart and federer crashed like a train with no wheels..
dont want to do the same mistake in Halle.. I will buy tickets only when the daily schedule comes out showing federer in the line up..
