The penultimate set of 250s are upon us...can you believe it's already mid-October?

In Antwerp, Alex de Minaur leads the field. He's returning from injury after skipping Shanghai and is looking to pick up his 3rd title of the year. A fairly soft draw, de Minaur has to be the heavy favorite, but if he's still recovering, this could be anyone's tournament.

Seeds:

1. Alex de Minaur
2. Stefanos Tsitsipas
3. Felix Auger-Aliassime
4. Sebastian Baez
5. Jiri Lehecka
6. Tomas Martin Etcheverry
7. Mariano Navone
8. Marcos Giron

Stalwart Richard Gasquet and local hopes Alexander Blockx and Raphael Collignon are also featured.

Giron over BVdZ in straights - 4 and 1. Giron seems a good guy from his interview. The Vuori kit is clean too.

Rinderknech takes out local hope Blockx in dominant fashion.

If I were a young ATP player, I think I would hate to see Rinderknech or Mannarino as my first round the most.

Swiss success - Stan in Stockholm takes out Nakashima, and now Stricker strikes out Berrettini

In 3 sets, FAA manages to get past Fucsovics, who is just returning from an injury.

The Fucsovics forehand is really fun to watch when it is clicking. A bit fluky today.

This tournament has a kind of "lucky loser" feel, in the sense that a group of guys who have lacked success elsewhere recently are now battling it out. Someone has to win it!

I also think the thread needs at least one comment noting that "European Open" is an utterly ridiculous tournament name, considering the large number of tour events in Europe, mostly of greater importance and prestige than the Antwerp tournament.

RBA takes out FAA in 3.

Hoping for a good match between Lehecka and Tsitsipas.
Yah man. Good result for RBA, who seems to have been playing better of recent, aged 36. FAA/Tsitsipas can't seem to find sufficient form to win even at this level.
Gaston getting the better of ADM returning after his time away with injury. The sf's could be interesting - both Lehecka and Giron won their maiden titles this year, and I think the winner of that semi is likely to lift the trophy.

Yes, FAA and Tsitispas are both in some sort of twilight zone.

I saw part of Leheckha's first match and had to pick him to win the whole thing. But I will enjoy the RBA-Gaston match. Two fun players.

Leheckha vs RBA in the final. Second title on the year for Leheckha if he wins. First for RBA since 2022, I think.

announcers calling it on Tennis Channel just said the rumors are out there this week that the tournament may be up for sale...maybe stays in Belgium, maybe not

Making mince meat of Lehecka now, who has not got a clue what to do. You cannot just blast balls against RBA ...
