The youth movement fizzled in the semifinals. Instead, we have a match of two former slam champions trying to consolidate their powers for final career pushes. Who wins this epic battle?

I am so pumped. I watched the entirety of Murray's last 2 matches but not Stan. But Wawrinka looks to be more in zone and obviously further progressed.

So I think it's Stanimal in either 2 or 3. I think only way Murray even wins a set is gonna be through a late breaker or tiebreak.

I watched Murray's match today and i dont like fact that he is so defensive. He was relying on the opponent's UEs so heavily. The dude literally had to throw away points for Murray to win.
Still, cant complain. His movement was pretty good today so cant complain lol

Andy will never change. He likes to play tactically especially against an opponent he has never faced before and doesn't know. His main tactic is to try and force his opponent to play worse than he is capable of (simply stating he waits for errors is far too crude and simplistic). He likes to get into his opponent's head with the power and variety of his defence and confuse them into playing worse. He can unleash more power when he is of a mind to but, especially against lesser and/or unfamiliar opponents, that's his favourite strategy. It has served him well more often than not.

Matchup of the decade..

Surprised that I’m the first to mention this: tomorrow’s title will be the first one earned by either since they destroyed each other in the RG’17 SF, Stan 6-1 in the fifth.

Stanimal in 3. He looks strong this week and has had a lot more tour time since his surgeries done well more than a year before The Muzziah met the knife.

True and I guess at this stage of the comeback, the most important thing is fitness and confidence.
But, and I'm sure you ll agree with me, that at this age he will really need to conserve his energy against the lower ranked players if he wants to compete for the big titles consistently again.

It’s a good quality match so far. Some great backhands from Stan and good net play from both players.

Even for a certified Murray hater, this feels a bit hollow, borderline awkward. Stan's ball striking simply puts him on a higher plane of 30s-postOP-comeback-kids to Murray.
