Quite a game. Cerundolo sees the nukes from the FH wing and thinks “I can do that too” - saves a set point by unleashing an inside-in fireball of his own.

But this kid is quite something… cool as you like dispatches both points using that first serve.

One set away from a first title.

Yeah id say its the worst part of his Game, and its impressive how he manages to beat oponents just with shotmaking and being agressive

Sure it is otherwise we would be talking about him as a GOAT tier perfect tennis prospect and we know perfection doesn't exist

This kid is an absolute phenomenon. My word.

30-30, second serve, all the pressure in the world… cerundolo hits a decent return, Fonseca deposits it in the back wall. Absolutely vaporizes it. And then the lovely touch on S&V to close the game.

He is going right to the very top. Right to the very top. Immediately. One of the best tennis prospects ever.
Man dont forget Carlitos won his first slam and got to number one at fonsecas age, playing better volleys and drop shots too, and now people Talk about him like hes some kind of mug

This has been horrible from Cerundolo. Unfortunately not surprising that everything he does well most of the time goes out of the window as soon as there's a bit of pressure on his shoulders.

I agree. But his overall anticipation is pretty good.
Was just going to say, his anticipation allows him to be decisive and in control most of the time so that his movement isn't as much of a factor. He's just such a natural talent out there. He's not grinding it out (though there's nothing wrong with that) to get success. Hate to make the comparison but it's Federer-like.

And now FC is throwing the second away too. Too many UEs on the forehand side. But OK, he has to go for it because the other guy really punishes short balls.

It's a different kind of tennis. It's like Rafa, he comes in with something fresh.

One of the toughest things, especially as a young player, is serving out your first championship. That was unfortunate but frankly predictable. He's nervous as hell and wants it really bad. He's got this though.
