Either way it will be good. We back whatever he does and he continues to give us great matches.

There is a part of me that just wants to see how long he can go. I think I just still got Fedal in my head and how their bodies betrayed them in end. I don’t want same end for Novak or to that point when he goes.

I think Novak body is obviously much better condition and if he smart with a bit of luck he might still be able to play at decent level at 39 and maybe 40/41. I take it event at a time but the fact it possible is already mind blowing.

It can all go wrong anytime but he fighting Father Time incredibly well and he will be keen not to try put his body at any stress from bad scheduling on his part.
Yea he's definitely fighting father time. I think BO3 is easier than BO5 for him now. He has to expend less energy. Even with the day off, he's struggling in BO5 now. Seems depleted by the time he reaches the SF. I do think ending the year well and having a nice off season with some rest, gives him a chance at the AO though.

Should he play anything in the lead up to AO at start of the new season? Or just an exho here and there?

I agree. I guess it a selfish part of me as a fan that just prefers him in tournaments away from sinner and Alcaraz.

I more bothered in events he might win and protect his body more.

The worst case scenario for me is when he gets embroiled in tournaments he might do okay but we know deep down he not winning and his body under stress.

I get the big tournaments are still better on the eye, money wise, points wise but seeing djoko in to 250/500 events is better than masters 1000 or atp finals.

As for slams I know his chances small but he will give them a go. We need a miracle with sincaraz not being there. Unlikely but guess we just hope for something weird to happen 1 last time.

The tide can shift though. They can start to struggle with form or have a bad day and get knocked out. If Djokovic can at least stay at a decent level physically, especially rested after time off like at AO when players are rusty, he can take advantage and pull it off. It can definitely happen. He just beat Alcaraz at the AO this year. It's Sinner who's his main problem on hardcourt. Sinner could fall off this level though so there is a chance.

Crazy thing I have heard is that if Musetti wins the final, he has to play his first RR the very next day!

That is just bad.
It would be better for competition purposes if FAA makes the final. He has a game suited better for fast indoor hard courts and Musetti will be gassed if he wins this tournament.

True. There is always a chance if he can hang around and stay competitive. He got nothing to lose everything to gain. Well said and you never know things can change or happen even just once.

The window is small though for a Slam as he ages. Everything has to come together at the right time but it has to be next year imo. I believe that's his last chance.
I agree and probably Wimbledon is the best chance. As if something happen to Sincaraz he may be able to shorten points to win. It either Wimbledon or Aussie open but probably grass. It unlikely though and don’t see it but we can live in hope.

At moment I’m just happy to see him out there and even try win another title to get 101. It all a bonus.

This is his best chance. He’s in good form, only 1 more match to win, the body just has to hold 1 more game and he loves indoor HC.

Let’s hope he can add more glory ti his insane career.

I'm gonna go with the AO. I think he'll be rested, it's at his best tournament, and Alcaraz plays worse there than at Wimbledon (at least so far).

Regardless whether he wins another Slam or not, and he really doesn't have to win anymore and there's nothing left to prove, I'm just glad to still watch him play.

You might be right actually. Australia open his best slam, Alcaraz worse slam and he fresher at start of year. Sinner is the major problem there. I agree.

You are correct nothing to prove but great he still enjoying himself it remarkable he still this good and achieving records and titles even at 38 and half, after all the mileage and his godly career.

Yea and he might be slower and declined, but he's still darn good for 38 years old. He's #4 in the world still and not terribly far away from #3, so there's no rush to hang up the racket if he still enjoys playing which he says he does.

If Musetti didn't blow that final against Tabillo, he would have qualified for the ATP finals with just making the final here.

Exactly. If he should retire then the rest of the field needs to go first. We just have Sincaraz skipping to a final for each event! LOL

Yea the field has sucked this year. Let's just tell it like it is. They have been virtually no challenge for them in Slams for the most part. They haven't even been much more of challenge in Masters tournaments. Crazy that 38 year old Djokovic who only played Slams from May to September has more points than them.

Korda is a great mistery, the guy have all the tools to be a top 10 player in this tour but somehow hes a scrub

Yes, I know. Its crazy to see, I was expecting big things from him, remember his early 2023 season? They guy took Djokovic to CP in Adelaide and then beat Medvedev in AO.

Being part time player won't cut it, then would be better to retire.
Why when he can maybe still add a few titles? He can win 101 if he wins tomorrow and may catch Fed. He has so many records in all big events. If you saying this then everyone but Sincaraz should retire. Mad logic.
