So Gloobis not defending his title. When does he play next?
Isner probably up against JMDP again in the second round, he cant catch a break :-|
Roddick ftw I predict :)

that's right. too bad. thought last year's win would be his stepping stone ... he went out in the first at AO, same in Marseille last week ... hope ernie's okay :-|

I picked Roddick to win at the beginning of Memphis because I knew his skill set and he is showing he's on form in his best surface.
I think he could reach another final again win here. Not many people here I could put above him.
I don't see Delpo revenging todays loss, nor Querry, Fish, taking him out. And while Isner is dangerous to everyone I doubt he'll make it to the final (he never seems to), because they are on opposite sides of the draw.
Also Roddick also has a very good record when it comes to these 250 point events.

Wonder how Nishikori will do this year? :o

While Nishikori is getting better and did beat Blake for the title a few years ago, Blake is a poor mans Roddick, without the mentality nor serve of Roddick. I don't see Nishikori making it even to the final. I'd love to see him do it though.

I'm stringing at the tournament. It's been great so far, with the seniors begining the tournament (Mcenroe, Cash, Wilander, Arias, Martin, Phillipousis, etc). As well as the guys trying to qualify.

Been very busy in the string room. It's sure to get busier as the ATP guys begin to show up.

Is it true that Delpo is getting his rackets strung much looser because his wrist can't take the higher tension? That's the story going around on a couple of boards.

Was a ballboy today for the qualies. It was fun. First time ever ballkid today.

I did these match:

Donald Young def Fritz Wolmarans 6-3 1-0 Ret
(Donald=Nice :D) (Fritz= Jerk)

Marinko Matosevic def Raven Klaasen 7-6(1) 3-6 6-3

Ryan Sweeting def Alex Bogomolov Jr.(I know similar name?)
3-6 6-2 6-3
(Ryan= Nice :D) (Alex=Meh alright I guess)

Frank Dancevic def Michael McCline 7-6(3) 6-3

Not sure yet, as he hasn't shown up to the tournament. I believe he is still in Memphis???? I'll know in a few days.

Hah. Love it. Are you going to be working any more matches? If you are, report back and tell us what you thought of the rest of the guys.

Haha will do. I'm scheduled right now for Sunday morning session and Tuesday Night session. (Roddick's night) They already told me in on stadium for Roddick's match :D. I just hope i don't screw up and forget to give him a towel or hit him in the face with a ball or something.

Haha yep we were pretty loud, who was playing basketball though, i kept hearing that

I have no idea. A few of the guys were trying to throw a football into the hoop. I was playing ping pong last night around midnight.

I'll be there tomorrow after 5pm. Will you be there?? If so, come by and say hello.

Drak,

I was there this afternoon. Very disappointed about the seniors. Pat Cash condition was awful, he should not play being like that. I asked for a refund

I hope youre right ... Del's obviously improving, but he looked pretty tired in the second set today

Wonder how Nishikori will do this year? :o

I had the chance this afternoon Nishikori playing a set with a lefty guy of approximately 40 years old! the set was very tight. I did not know who that was but he has an excellent game. Then the same guy practiced with Jamie Murray.

I'm working nights, so will see you Tuesday night. Have fun on the court.

sorry to hear that. Not sure what could have happened to cash. I know arias pulled his hamstring the other day.

Interesting. Last time I saw Nishikori (#66) he was beating Fflorian Mayer (#36) at the aussie open, but then he lost to Verdasco. After that came SAP san jose, he beat #104 Hajek but then lost to #172 American, Smyczek. In Memphis he lost in the second round of qualies to Hajek, who was #101 this past week. I'm wondering whether he's planning to make a stronger run, go deeper at Delray Beach ... certainly hope so! :P

Very cool format with the seniors matches mixed in with the regulars.

Hope that Krickstein beats Mac tomorrow. Classic class act vs. jerk story.

hey drak :) nice to hear youre there this week ... hope you can regale us with some event info or at least some tennis celebrity sightings! :p

Love Game, have met this week, Kricksetin, Arias, Cash, Wilander, Berger, Martin, Mcenroe, Phillipsousis, Isner, Querey, Serra, Young, Dr. Ivo, Tipsarivec, Andreev, and a bunch more. Been lot of fun stringing for these guys.

wow!!!
out of those, the two i'm most interested in are Isner and Andreev, and I got a technical question for you ... which of those two do you think American women would swoon over more?

Andreev was hitting yesterday afternoon in a practice with a young kid from Argentina. He looks very fit and B Becker, and others

That's odd. A few days ago Cash defeated Philippoussis in what was called a shock result, and defeated Pernfors the next day.

What string is JP Mcenroe using ?

That was probably Andres Gomez.

Hope you guys present at the event can provide a few updates on the Krickstein-Mac match tonight. No sign of live scores or video feed at the usual places.

THANKS!

Another thing that I noticed there with the seniors; many of them are playing with Donnay
Wilander
Krickstein
Perforns
Berger??? (or Pro Kennex)
Courier

or Dunlop
Cash
JP Mcenroe

Aaron Krickstein d. John McEnroe
6-3, 4-6, 10-3

It's like reading fine poetry. Apparently McEnroe flipped out, as usual when he things don't go his way. Go Aaron! Wish I would have been there.

Querrey is due to rattle one off now that everyone has counted him out. At least a finals appearance...
