The "glad it ain't me" guy remains the only one he's yet to beat

Maybe he'll do that in Halle? It's still far away but I really hope they meet there, should be a great match.

Is he scheduled to play Halle? That would be a nice match. They played only once IIRC, and I can't decide based on that whether it's a more difficult mathcup for him than the rest of the top.

Yes,Tsonga is scheduled to play Halle this year.In Madrid match while Fed did play well Tsonga was not in good form,he was rusty and lacked match play as he was recently coming off from surgery.

I've never seen tsonga play on grass. How is he?

I think his game should work great on grass but he didn't have that much opportunity to prove himself on that surface.I remember I watched him in Queens 2007 when he took out the defending champion Hewitt in straights.

Congrats Mika. He hasn't been his best for a while due to that shoulder troubling him, but he's back to be everyone's worst draw non-seed nightmare

So all-French final it is then, should be a great match.Llodra proves that serve and volley can still work today if you're capable at the net.

Happy for Llodra. I really admire players who play both singles and doubles. Llodra is in the semis in doubles paired with his old partner Simon. Hope he goes all the way.

Yes,about 99% of Nadal fans.
Hahah i guess that 99% need to let things go sometimes. :?

I haven't been a Tsonga fan until this year. I am still not a fan fan, but I really love watching matches with him and him playing my favorites. I think he brings out good aspects of their game. I'm also looking forward to seeing him at Halle and at Wimbledon. I guess I'm in that 1%.
Me too!! I didn't know he was scheduled to play Halle. Ohhhh getting excited already at the possibility...

The other 99% are still mad because the overrated clown took their boy to the woodshed 13 months ago:

That is too funny.
The "glad it ain't me" guy probably is glad he didn't see Tsonga's best in their last match. Just his very funky dance! :)

I believe Tsonga has the potential to win a slam. He's only 23, it's not like time is running out for him to win a maiden slam.

Possible. But many over here seem to be overating Tsonga (in comparison to a player of Djokovic's caliber).

I meant in comparison to their achievements so far. It's not like there is some huge age difference between them. and Djokovic has always performed consistently at the slams where it matters. Till Tsonga shows more regular consitent performances at the slams, we can't say he is better than Djokovic.

Umm, Djokovic has be healthy all this time. Tsonga hasn't. You make it seem as if Tsonga has been playing in slams since he was 17 until now and hasn't done squat in them. Do you have any idea how many slams he's appeared in til now?

 this defeat hasn't gone well with you it seems. You seem to be the first to bring up the "who's the better player" into discussion. Why not bring H2H into it then since you're making it about the two in particular. For everything else, have a healthy year Jo

Djokovic is the last person that we can call as a "healthy" tennis player. He has his fair share of injuries and breathing issues but has still performed better at the slams than Tsonga. I am aware that Tsonga has had his share of injuries as well, but that doesn't merit an excuse to say Tsonga is better than Djokovic (because injuries have halted his progress). Lets wait and see how things turn out and how well Tsonga performs at the French, Wimbledon and the US open (and if he outperforms Djokovic at these slams).

BTW, I don't want to take anything away from this match, clearly Tsonga was the better player (in this match) and he deserved to win this match.

What injuries has he had? Breathing issues vs. herniated disc, sore throat vs. 2 right shoulder injuries, too hot vs. abdominal injury, blister vs. knee surgery boy Djokovic had it rough. You see the difference here is Tsonga's injuries actually kept him from playing consistent for quite a while. As far as waiting to see, well let's just do that. So far they have both made the quarter finals of the AO and Tsonga has 1 title under his belt and a final tomorrow.

I would like to know this, do you know exactly how many slams he has entered so far?

French Open - 1
Aussie Open - 3 third time this year
US Open - 2 times 2nd time was last year and his first tournament back from knee surgery
Wimbledon - 1

Thanks for this. I didn't know it was just 7 slams that he has entered so far? if so, we should give him more time before we judge him. He has done quite well considering that, I mean, reaching a slam final with so few appearances is something great (I think Nadal had won his first slam in his 5th or 6th slam appearance, but again Nadal is a super human).

He is an interesting prospect and brings more variety to the game, so lets hope he remains fit. Its fun to watch him play.

apperently, no thread (even one about a tournment in which rafa isn't entered) is safe from the rafa bashers!

i'm kinda glad that both my faves are out, because now i can stop setting my alarm clock to wake up too early in the morning! :D

Sad Simon lost. Didn't get to watch either match really.

Llodra/Tsonga should be great with a lot of fast hardcourt tennis.

Aw, man, I missed Tsonga defeating Djokovic again. Allez!

Can't wait to see the final. Can you guys believe it? Serve and volley tennis!

Llodra will be in both finals tomorrow, singles and doubles. He is one of my favorites and really deserves the crowns. Will I be watching tomorrow? YESS!!
