Wow, Querrey losing in qualifying again? I believe this is his second tournament in a row losing in the qualies.

Hoping for Gulbis or Monfils to take the title. Would also like to see Thiem and Tomic do well here although I wouldn't mind Steve Johnson winning either.

Gublis to take it all! Performs well in the 250's.

User name inspired by The Ernests FH??? If so, you missed out on "The Flying Gull". It does look like "flying gull wing" doors on Mercs and Deloreans!

I would love a Thieminator/Gulbis final but with Dominic beating "Big Brother" for the Bresnik Cup!

Sounds like Borna put up a good fight against Mayer and kept it very competitive. Good for him.

Klizan wins this...

Struggled to beat Tomic today but he is indeed rounding into form after his coaching change.

This draw is actually pretty strong...Berlocq (who also went three to win today vs Ben-E-Toe) won a 250 clay (Oerias) the same week as Klizan won in Munich.

Yes it is inspired by Gulbis FH and I agree it looks like those flying gull wing doors :)

I could live with a Thieminator/ Gulbis final, won by Dominic. A win for Thieminator would be very good for confidence and ranking.

Meanwhile Ernests starting his comeback vs Klizan!

Wish I could see this match and the next one! Bresnik knows a little about synergy, no? We'll have to call them "Thiem Gulbinator"!

They do seem to have a good set up with Bresnik!

The Gulbis/ KLizan match is not very good. Some games Gulbis forehand starts spraying errors and he has to rely on his serve to get him out of trouble. However he does seem to be able to beat Klizan. Let's hope for some better form next matches.

I wonder what Simon will show up; the pusher or the attacking player (like he played vs Nadal). Will be a thoudh match for Thiem

Gulbis can't complain about his luck in the 3th set. He got both breaks with a net cord. The first one dropped dead over the net. The second break Klizan did make it to the ball quite comforatbly though.

Luck, and a bit fresher set of legs I would imagine...a bye vs a 1R 3-setter for Klizan.

Yeah Klizan started to make to many unforced errors. Meanwhile Gulbis played a good 3th set.

Thiem now going for the Gulbis comeback! He's playing some beautiful points, but has trouble to keep his serve.

Just wonder for anyone playing, how far to go before losing considering the RG starts Sunday? Never put much stock in tournament results that are immediately before a Major....

OP has lost the enthusiasm for posting results so I'll step in:

Delbonis and Gulbis survived third-set decisive TBs, Montanes won in three and Simon cruised in straights. Sets up two nice SFs:

NB 2:30

Albert Montanes (ESP) vs (2) Ernests Gulbis (LAT)

Followed by

(7) Federico Delbonis (ARG) vs (4) G Simon (FRA)

Enjoy!

Montanes clutch as always. He pretty much had to make a SF here to keep his career alive at all. And he makes his first one of the year, coming back from a set down twice in a row.

Karlovic wins in 2 close tiebreaks.

That did not happen in this tournament though.

Gulbis winning with a bagel and 6-3. A bit more resistance by montanes in the second set. Overal Gulbis played a solid match. Good to see him win in 2 comforable sets.

In post match interview Gulbis comments he was a bit tight in the second set since he only has 2 rackets left (So has to be carefull not to smash any). He also comments this will be the same for the final! So let's see if he can control himself.

Wow the real GOAT Delbonis wiped the court with Simon! I did not expect that after a tight match with Nadal and straight sets win against Berlocq.

You're welcome! Love your thorough job so it's a relief to see this post.

BTW, did not realize Patton Oswald was Austrian and has given up his day job as a comedian!
