according to the live scoreboard, devilder and monfils are 3 all, and hanescu is 2-0 over youzhney, but murray/petzschner has not yet begun.

ooops. I just now saw your answer about the translation, but how could that be? naylor said the doctors didn't know what was wrong, but we all already knew for months that what was wrong was two toenails that had to be surgically removed because of being split.

Right?

Right?

Del Potro had a toenail injury since October but he had a different injury in his match against Lopez (some muscular injury in one of his legs) and it hadn´t been tested.

Youzhny and Hanescu just finished a game that lasted about 20 minutes. Youzhny held serve.

i get it now. thanks! :D

wow that was quite a BHCC volley, sending murray a good 2-3 meters out of the court in a valiant attempt to return, but petz held 2-3.

So far Seppi is holding off Federer quite well. Rog has the edge, but Seppi is not shrinking. They both broke each other after two long, long games. 4-3*.

I'm loving this Santoro/Youzhny team, they're tied with Coatzee/Moodie 3-3. While Federer just won 6-3, 6-3.

I think it is the same speed, however his forehand seems less "spinny" and more aggressive. (I may be seeing things, had a long day at work...)

Well he served at 213 a little earlier

His fastest serve in the first round was 209 i thought roddicks average was 220 km/h

And Roddick gets broken right back. Is it me or is Andy playing a better return game?

I've noticed it too

But i watch Roddick for the awsome aces so this is killing me

But he's not playing bad Clement is just reading his serve pretty well

Yeah, Clement is always a tough opponent, oh well I'm gonna go play some tennis now. Come on Andy, give 'em the ol' Gospeed Maverick!!!

Godspeed Maverick i still don't get it but its funny..

I can't play tennis..its about 30 degrees with Ice rain outside

Roddick's slice seems to be going through the court more.

He's got abit more sting off both sides, and has been hitting a few good FHs throughout the match. Returning alot better, and seems to have a better sense of when to come to the net now.

On serve, he's very dominant. Seems to be getting alot of easy FH winners, big serves, unreturnable serves, etc. He'll need to have his FH to come alive though to have a chance at the AO.

Roddick takes it 6-3 7-5

I'd say it was a pretty good match for Roddick. Had the toughest opponent, and had the toughest match. Came through in the end, despite Clement playing some excellent tennis.

Roddick will have to be abit more aggressive, and take more chances if he hopes to win this tournament.

Really not a bad match from Andy. Took a while to get the serves dialed-in, but he was much better from the back court. More aggressive thgan I've seen him in quite some time.

Really? I'm looking forward to this match. Will it be tomorrow or on Friday?

I think it might be tomorrow, not sure. Whatever the case, I think it should be a great match to test Nadal if he has improved on HCs or not. Monfils is a tough customer, big serve, and can bomb in the groundstrokes when needed.

Yeah, first set, his return game has shown drastic improvement, especially off the BH side. Roddick is putting the ball back deep at the very least, and seems to be putting abit more off both sides. Showed some good point construction too, and doesn't go into panic mode anymore by charging the net blindly.

The FH is really worrying me though. He still hasn't shown that big huge FH that he used to have. He is being more aggressive with it, but not to the extent that he did in 2003. There's still time though; we'll see.

I think Monfils/Nadal should be good. Their Paris Masters match wasn't that bad. Monfils couldn't convert any of the break chances he had.

Of the four quarters, which one are you guys looking most forward to?

Probably Federer / Kohlschrieber; I think the German has a chance for the upset.

Kohlschrieber I don't think has enough weapons for the upset. Federer would have to make as many errors as he did today, and Kohlschreiber would have to keep his in the single digits to pull that off. My speculations of course.

I'm looking forward to Nadal / Monfils. It sounds like a great matchup on paper. Both are real speedy and like to scramble for points. Monfil has his nice *coughstolenfromRoddickcough* serve and might be able to score more than 2 games per set, unlike Nadal's other two opponents.
