So? Us fans, it's supposed to be hard when your favorite player loses. I recovered pretty well, but only because it's the Qatar Open.

I understand, it sucks when Gasquet loses.

Murray to start soon against Stakhovsky, while Nadal/Lopez take on Youzhny/Santoro. Go Misha!

The Stakhovsky guy has some sweet droppers and a mean 1HBH. Murray has the upper hand, though, much more consistent.

I'm loving this Stakhovsky...nice to see a (relatively) low-ranked one-hander doing fairly well against Murray.Nice touch as well.

First time I'm seeing Stakhovsky play - he can play :) Obviously this is a difficult one against #4, but he is giving a very good account of himself. Definitely not in awe of the moment.

Murray 1st set 6-4, and he's up a break 1-0 in the 2nd.

Stakhovsky's throwing some points away, but Murray's playing well. 2nd set 2-0 Murray

stak has some good shots, reminds me of PK who just played fed, but he looks on and off, almost gulbis like actually. Murray doesnt look like he is doing too much but just letting stak screw up.

Stak needs to get himself a 2nd serve and a more reliable forehand, but he is an entertaining player to watch.

Murray had a bagel in his hand and dropped it in dirt...does he want a breadstick instead ?

No breadstick either...

Murray takes 6-4 6-2, least entertaining match of the day...

Murray VS Federer yet again

Disappointing but expected outcome I suppose. I'd like to see more or this Stakhovsky dude.

Thank goodness Nadal lost. Now we can have maybe a few days of peace without Nadal_Freak here, as he does his routine disappearing act when Nadal loses.

If you don't mind my asking...why?
I get bored of watching him after a while. Got nothing against him though.

It figures. You don't like players with flare and excitement. Whatever floats your boat.
Hahaha great display of cowardice there.
Now you have a gripe against me because i made you chicken out of the Cash thread.

So since i like Agassi, Nadal and Guga that would mean they lack flare [sic] and excitement.

I expect another bail-out reply if you ever do make it through this egg-on-face ordeal.

Yes but Nadal/Lopez won anyway :).
I couldn't see any match today. Did Murray seem OK physically? 2 days ago the commentators mentioned his back was bothering him.

i notice that his shots were had a bit less pace and aggression on them today but his movement looked fine, he was chasing down balls well, but i didnt see nearly as much of the shot making that he could do today. so maybe that was due to the back?

Apparently. If that's the case I hope he will take it easy tomorrow, another marathon match against Fed could compromise his fitness before AO and Doha isn't worth the risk IMO.

Let's not! :p

The Swiss master has played terribly and horribly tennis last year. I hope he does improve and proof to the world that he could make a comeback and capture the world no 1 from Nadal and also to stop the great run from the rising star Murray by the age of 27/28 but then overall i'm not on Federer.

Congrats to the Nadal/Lopez.

I don't think even they expected to win that...

What time might the final be tomorrow?

Totally unexpected for them to beat the #1 double team. So glad Rafa is ending this tournament on a positive note! I think they said 7:30pm local time for tomorrow.

I missed it. I love a good game of doubles - pace, touch, skill, everything in one little basket.
It was a great match, very suspenseful. Nadal was serving aces and returning like a demon (where had that gone vs Monfils? sigh)

If 3 set matches are a marathon for Murray then he is going to be in serious trouble at the AO.
