No Mannarino? Why even hold the tournament?

Anyway, of the rest I'm taking Shelton to restore American glory on grass.

Zverev said in his presser that his chances of playing in Stuttgart is extremely slim. He said he'd be in Switzerland today and Berlin on Wednesday.

Makes sense. It would be a surprising call to play four days on a different surface after a long slam final. He always has Halle for some grass-court matches before Wimbledon.

Mpetshi Musetti are blasting each other in first set tiebreak!

Unfortunately Mpetshi Double Faulted ... 9-11 first set Musetti

I only want him to win a couple of more matches and get to the 1,000 matches played mark but even that looks less and less likely. Will he ever win another match before he finally calls it quits?? :(

He will get to the 1,000 match mark. This was #999, so if he plays Queen's and Wimbledon, he will end on at least 1,001! Though knowing him, he'll probably lose R1 of Queen's, play Eastbourne because he thinks he needs more matches under his belt before Wimbledon, win a round at Eastbourne, get injured in the second match, and so be unable to play at Wimbledon.

Or, even more Murray-esque, pick up the injury in his R1 Eastbourne win, refuse to withdraw because he thinks he can play through it, exacerbate the injury in the R2 loss, and so have to miss Wimbledon.

Stuttgart needs Zverev. Ah well hopefully he can play on grass soon to adjust to the different rhythm and get ready for Wimbledon!

Bert still has a strong serve +1 game. He could be a tough 1st round opponent at Wimby.

Shapo, on the other hand, keeps doing Shapo things. Can't return a serve to save his life, and throws in a terrible service game per set that included 2 double faults this time.

Dang, love him or hate him, Shelton is one super watchable tennis player. Nothing boring about his matches.
