You certainly are entitled to your opinion but I disagree .

When Sampras retired there was a vacuum in the top 10 ....roddick was number one and some Spanish guy also was number one ....I forgot his name ....was it ferrer ?

The Roddick Federer rivalry was the hottest rivalry there was .....If you want to even call that a rivalry as roddick was completely dominated .

It was filled with journeymen like Blake and Henman.

It was a weak era in my opinion ....and it makes perfect sense .

Clearly not all eras are exactly equal . The period following Sampras retirement was in my opinion a weaker era than others.

Interesting that Fed has won 5 of his last 6 and 9 of his past 13. You'd think as a player gets older their long match record would get worse.

    Must be all the doping.

At one point in his career Rafa was at 15-3 in 5 setters. I wonder if he'll do a Hewitt, and lose a bunch of 5 setters in the latter stages of his career.

Three more for the lists :
    - Murray loses in 5 to Wawrinka at 2017 FO
    - Murray loses in 5 to Querrey at 2017 WB
    - Nadal loses in 5 to Muller at 2017 WB

    Djokovic really has jaw-dropping stats.

Am I the only one who seems very unimpressed by Novak's 5 set record?

He seems to have a lot of (unnecessary, in my opinion) 5 set victories against players he should have beaten quite easily.

Starting from 2007 (the year Novak would have had the CYGS if not for Federer, Nadal),

    2007 French Open: Novak Djokovic def. Olivier Patience (7-6, 2-6, 3-6, 7-6, 6-3) (odd)
    2007 Wimbledon: Djokovic def. Baghdatis (7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 4-6, 7-5) (odd)
    2007 US Open: Novak Djokovic def. Radek Stepanek (6-7, 7-6, 5-7, 7-5, 7-6) (odd)
    2008 US Open: Novak Djokovic def. Tommy Robredo (4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3) (odd)
    2010 Davis Cup: Novak Djokovic def. John Isner (7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4) (odd)
