I'm more excited for the davy/rafa match. I'm hoping its a good one. Btw, I like your avatar

Oh yes, I've wanted a Davy/Rafa match from the beginning as I like both players very much. Will pull for Rafa and a two setter, though. No need for either to get tired for Rome.

Thanks! It's finally warm and sunny out and it puts me in a partying mood.

damned... i missed that !
sounds like it was an entertaining match... good win for gonzo !
he was already impressive on the clay of vina del mar some weeks ago...
He looked very, very good. I love it when he plays like that. Saw him at the AO last year in the finals against Fed. Gonzo was just flying. The crowd loved it.

What was up with the head betwixt the legs deal?

I came in just after that happened...

Since it was sign language, it's open to interpretation, but I think he was waving at the line judge, looking first at the mark/line, then back thru his legs at the judge and waving. This was the second of two questionable line calls in which gonzo wanted the umpire to come down off her perch and look at the mark, but she just sat there, staring at him. The first one I saw was the far sideline from the umpire and he was pointing at the mark. He clearly wanted her to come down and rule on the call, but she didnt that time either. I guess he was expressing expressing frustration with the line calls, especially after that second time that the umpire refused to personally evaluate the mark. Kind of a "can I get a witness" moment, since he was looking straight down at the mark before looking at the line judge and waving :D

Back on serve at 1-1 :)

Another break...

3 breaks of serve

2-1 Nadal

aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh, just got in from playing to find this just starting, excellent! what do people think, ferrer takes a set? no?

Ferrer is just another Spanish Armada noble paying tribute to his king. Until a newcomer clay master comes along and/or Nadal gets injured, resistance is futile!

Ferrer is too consistent from the baseline and a great defender, he will make Nadal spend more energy than he should. Nadal playing great aggressive tennis, 3 breaks in 3 games on Ferrer's serve.

This is why I always enjoy Ferrer's matches with Rafa, as he forces Rafa to work hard and play his best tennis. Rafa knows that he has to play well to put him away as Ferrer can't be blown off the court and can rally all day.

He similar to Nadal rally, though he doesnt attack and defend as well as him.

Ferrer came back hard against the gonzonator yesterday, who knows if this set will bring him more joy. He's not playing badly!

What en EPIC rally from Nadal, he is a beast among men, he really is peerless on this surface. His is peaking at the right time.

He will be fresh for Rome and IMO I can't see anybody beating him

Nadal is funny with his water bottles and racquet placement between games.

Is his OCD going to get worse as he gets older?
