Before I believe almost all the top ten were going to participate. Of course now that Nadal, Federer, Verdasco, and Roddick (the four semifinalist at the AO) are not participating, the draw is not quite as packed.

Murray will be the favorite to win.

I'm personally looking for a good tournament from Cilic.

it would be nice to see safin win something before he retires, but looking at the draw and everything, I think murray will take this.

I'll use my good luck charm vote for Cilic this time.
Gasquet-Safin in the first round sucks if you like both guys

Looking forward to (1st round): Tipsy/Cilic, Tursy/Seppi, Gasqy/Safin, Schuettler/Clement (Hehe Wimbly quarters marathon comes to mind)!

it would also be nice to see a murray-djokovic final. I think the last time they played was cincinatti and murray won, so it would be nice to see a rematch.

Those are good. Safin/ Gasquet is so hard. I'll root for Safin, but dang I wanted to see Gasquet do well.

Wooo go Gasquet!!!Too bad he has to take on the Russian sex machine in the first round, I only wish this were a final.

Probably Murray, what with both Federer and Nadal out of it. Would have been a pretty good opportunity for Roddick as well, but he elected another route to success.

Murray looks to be in a winning position, given his performance in Rotterdam, but I haven't seen Djokovic recently.

Yep, it's a decent draw, but the only other player who I might tap to pull the whole thing off would be Cilic, if he doesn't fall at the first hurdle.

Picked Gasquet though, because I'm still waiting for him to take off.

I'm with all the peeps who wish Safin/Gasquet wasn't a first round match.

Tsonga isn't playing?

Murray will probably win this.

Murray will probably win this.

Tsonga has probably played too much lately with Jo'burg, Rotterdam, and Marseilles back to back to back.

Murray can gain a lot of points here, right? He's definitely the favorite and barring injury I do think he'll win.

Murray has a good chance to win here but he should be careful not to burn out later this season playing so many matches in events like these.
If he makes the final he's gonna play 15 matches just in Doha, Rotterdam and Dubai. This is his first whole season as a top player and his stamina isn't the best, I think he should be more careful with the scheduling.

safin vs gasquet is going to be very interesting, i mean safin is ranked 25 and gasquet ranked 26, cant get any tighter.

i like both players, so im not happy it is a 1st round match :(.
but anyways, i see murray winning this whole thing, djoker has been losing confidence lately, he just lost to tsonga for the 4th straight time on saturday.

but...murray vs djoker final will be interesting, rematch of their cincy final last august.

I thought since he's not played there he could gain points from it. But he's had some good results so far this year so a little break would be preferable.

I agree. He needs to be fresh for IW/Miami where he could make a real impression and trouble the top guys. Also, another good performance at Wimbledon could do a lot for his confidence. Burning out mid-season, not good.

Stakhovsky isn't playing bad against Murray. They're in the tiebreak right now.

Murray loses the set as he really does give it away. He was up a double break!

And Murray gets broken. What's wrong with Murray? Is his ankle bothering him?

Surely, if anyone's bothered by the ankle, it's Stakhovsky, scary ankle sprain at the end of the 1st set.
Sergiy found his Zagreb form, LOL, it's the only time I've seen him play as well.

I only got back in time for the tiebreaker. Was it bad? Zagreb! That's where I saw him!

Murray has a breakchance now.

Well this match has turned out very intresting. Murray down a set and a break. Could this be a first round upset?

Yes, very bad, completely turned the ankle on the run. They've bandaged it and sprayed it and he seems to be doing fine for now, but I shudder to think how it will be when it cools down.
He came out of nowhere to win Zagreb last year, played unbelievable, then did nothing for the rest of the year. Started equally well this year in Zagreb and I was already thinking I'll have to throw bananas at him to distract him when he plays Marin, but Troicki stooped him before that

Murray breaks back and has 3 BPs for a new one

The woman commentator said that Murray has a habit of yelling "come on" when an opponent misses a shot. That's really poor sportsmanship.

No match today has been won in straight sets. Just glad Cilic won.

Despite his problems, Murray is doing well. Won the second set and now about to break in the third.

Stakhovsky retires. Wouldve liked to of seen how the match would've gone if Stokhovsky hadnt rolled his ankle at the end of the first set.

Same re: lack of ankle rolling. I think retiring was the right decision though. Murray probably would have closed it out there and it was best for both parties really.
