You're poll is a little strange. You include Berrettini, who I don't think has ever won an indoor title, but not FAA (a former Rotterdam titlist), Bublik (three hard court titles), or Fils (higher ranked than all four).

With all due respect, it's not that I put Berrettini in place of Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.

However, yes, not only has Berrettini never won an indoor title at ATP level, but he has never even won a hard title at ATP level in general.
But in terms of status at the moment it is above any of those you mentioned.

No, he's not. Sometimes I wonder if you're just a bot for Italian tennis.

If you read my comments on Musetti (very critical of him), venerated by many here, your idea is evidently rather misleading.
I'm Italian but it's not like I have to exalt Italian tennis players out of principle.

I simply tell it like it is.
In terms of status, Berrettini is a superior player to the players you mentioned.
When the various FAA, Bublik and Fils, reach a slam final, plus two other semi-finals, remaining continuously in the top 10 for 3 years, then we'll talk about it again.

Having said that, whipping up a controversy over the setting of a poll where FAA, Bublik and Fils were left out (there is always the "other" option), not exactly Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, seems a little specious to me.

Not on indoor hard courts. And this is an indoor tournament.

So Alcaraz should also be excluded to make room for a Bublik?

No Berrettini should be excluded. He has neither rank nor prowess. If you did it by ranking/seeding that would be fine. At least it would be consistent. If you did a mix of both, that would be fine.

Who knows? Maybe Matt will win the whole thing and he'll turn out to be a great pick.

I have already explained that Berrettini has status on his side.
The fact that he slipped so low in the rankings has nothing to do with his absolute value.
A Berrettini who is physically intact is a superior player to those players you mentioned.
For what has been demonstrated, I will always give more credit to a Berrettini rather than a Bublik, even at indoor level despite not having won a title yet.
In Tokyo, although half debilitated, he was up a set to zero against Fils, future winner of the tournament, before having to withdraw.
I repeat, there is nothing to be shocked about having put him in the place of one of those 3.

I'm not shocked, or even anti-Berrettini, I thought it was funny. I do think only an Italian and maybe @Berrettini Fan would include him in this Rotterdam poll.

I don't want to argue over this, and maybe Berrettini will surprise us.

Trust me, Bublik's name would be much more hilarious to put in the poll.
For the record, Berrettini with FAA leads 5-2 in h2h, and a 2-0 at indoor level.

And Felix leads Jannik 2-0, but even I wouldn't put him in a poll because of it ;)
What comparison is that?

FAA beat Sinner when Sinner was not yet a top player.
Berrettini, on the other hand, beat FAA when the Canadian was at his best.

I really don't understand where you're going with this.
You started by saying that Berrettini's name shouldn't have been included because, unlike some of the names you mentioned, he has never won an indoor title.
So I told you that Alcaraz has still never won an indoor title either.
Then that is no longer the discriminating factor but becomes the current position in the ranking.
As if Berrettini being at number 34 in the ranking is worth that position.
The only reason he is so low in the rankings is because he hasn't been able to play as consistently as others.
But if physically intact he is worth a much higher position, and above all he is a better player than the players you mentioned, and his story speaks here compared to that of the various FAA and Bublik.
Last year he finished with one of the highest winning percentages on the circuit.
Also last year in the Davis Cup he played 6 matches obviously at indoor level, winning all 6.

I don't think he has played this event since like 2010.

I also remember that Youzhny beat him twice here. I think both were semis, if I recall correctly.

I know Roger played it a few times, but I thought Djokovic would generally play Dubai after the AO.

It's an equivalent comparison. FAA is only a year older than Sinner. Berrettini is 5 years older than FAA. Half of their matches were played before FAA turned 21.

By the way, it looks like Matt played 3 matches last year...why are we talking about winning percentage?

Let's talk about victory percentage because as I have already tried to explain to you several times, the only reason why Berrettini has such a low ranking is due to his physical fragility, ergo, when he can play his level is still very high, certainly higher high from the players you mentioned.
This is demonstrated by the 3 tournaments won last year, two of which were consecutive without conceding a set.
The match with Sinner at Wimbledon demonstrates this.
This is demonstrated by his performance in the Davis Cup, which was decisive in the victory of the Italian team.
The ELO ranking also demonstrates this.

As for the comparison between Sinner and FAA.
FAA beat Sinner when Sinner was nowhere near the player he is today.
Instead, the comparisons between Berrettini and FAA that I reported to you concern the period in which we saw the best FAA and the best Berrettini.

I repeat, if you are consistent with your skepticism inherent to the survey you should also contest the inclusion of Alcaraz, given that the Spaniard has not only never won an indoor title but has never even played in an indoor final.

What is Alcaraz doing in the options instead of Bublik?

I repeat for the last time, we are talking about FAA, Bublik and Fils, not Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.
Nothing to be shocked about.

Translation: You like Berrettini. That's fine.

Translation: You like to argue about nothing.

I like Berrettini, but not to the point of including him in a poll instead of Sinner, Alcaraz, Djokovic, Medvedev, Zverev, Fritz and company.
But here we are talking about FAA, Bublik and Fils, if you don't notice the differences I don't know what to tell you.
Controversy for FAA, Bublik and Fils, but what are we talking about?

I repeat, so no Alcaraz too?

Translation: You like to make controversy depending on how the wind blows.

No, not really. When I first joined TTW there was more consistency for polls/threads about tournaments. I started listing players in polls who I thought had the best chance of winning based on past performance, and was told to stick to seeding. At least performance or seeding are consistent, the inclusion of Berrettini here seems a bit more arbitrary.

Alcaraz is the number 1 seed. Excluding him, for any reason, would be silly.

And Fils is #19 and FAA is #23. And even Bublik has 3 indoor titles.
Bublik has absolutely nothing to do with the requirements you expressed.
He won 3 indoor titles, the last one 12 months ago, but which titles are we talking about?

Bublik has no ranking, no relevant history, nothing at all.

Don't you think this controversy is taking on hilarious contours?
For a stupid survey, or rather for a stupid option.
If there was the possibility of changing the options in the survey I swear that I would replace Berrettini with one of the 3 candidates you mentioned, just out of exhaustion.
Putting one of Berrettini, Fils, FAA, Bublik (lol) would move absolutely nothing in the survey economy.

Rotterdam looks good - many potentially interesting matches in the offing.

Felix has apparently won more matches indoors since start of 2022 than any other player. Just won his 6th indoor title today.
Dude seems to be gaining momentum, good to see.

Out of Monday's matches, should be good doubles encounter between Griekspoor / van de Zandschulp & Krawietz / Putz. In the singles, will try and watch Stan/Daniil, to see if Stan can delight with a few of his sublime shbh gems.

I don't care about the others, and there's already been more argument about the survey than it is worth - but I do think FAA merits inclusion. He's just won Montpellier, I think all but one of his titles were indoors. He's 6th in betting odds; he might well have gotten some votes. But it's possible to vote "Other".
