question: if the atp doesn't show the dubs, who the heck does? :?:

True, thats what I think but cant count Rafa out of anything, you know?

I know..

I was one of those people who thought he shouldn't have played this tournament. I didn't expect him to go this far. I think Murray should win because of the court speed favours his game more and he had an easy path to the final. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Nadal win. He's surprised me often enough.

Murray's ankle should be ok, right? He seemed to beat Ancic with no dramas..

Too close to call for me. I'm going to have to Sky+ it as I'll be watching the oldest, baddest game in the world of football.

I'm hoping murray takes this one because I like his game better, but I have a feeling that rafa will win. I wouldn't be upset if rafa won, but I prefer murray to win, and hopefully he will. It would be a nice birthday present seeing as they are playing on my birthday.:)
Happy B day. Mine comes during the USO. Good to have you as a poster. Hope you don't change your attitude. Some of the ones who have been around a long time, can really get tiresome with their snobbiness, bitterness, and rudeness. Anyway, nice to have you here. Oh, I lived in Elizabeth for a couple of years when my folks retired.

Should be a great final, rooting for Nadal this time as I like his game more than Murray's but I'm fine with either result as none of them are among my favourite players to watch on tour.

thank you!

Prefer Nadal to Murray. Why is nobody starting to talk about Nadal having problems with Murray? If he wins today, thats three straight wins against Rafa.

EDIT: People can't use the injury as an excuse. Murray is injured too. Nadal is a far better player than Murray, but he just has problems with him.

watching these guys slug it out right now, and i just keep thinking, roger is still better than both these guys. he needs to get nadal out of his head and get back to winning everything.

lots of breaks in that 2nd set. Nadal looks like he's injured. HE does not play very well. Problems with his footwork and serve because his struggling with his right leg

No one can hold serve....

Murray broke at love as well...

The one who holds will win because they can break at will right now

This match is getting ridiculous. Nadal not being able to move and serve properly is keeping the match close, I didn't expect him to break Murray multiple times in the 2nd set with his condition. Hats off to him for his fight.
Murray started well but he lost focus in the 2nd set and served poorly too. Overall a low quality match, I just hope Nadal's injury is not serious. There are many more important matches than this to play in the next couple of months.

Damn its hard watching Rafa out there...now im rooting for him but i don't see it happening

I did vote for murray to take the whole thing..

Murray on the verge of bageling Nadal...the scoreline is misleading

Nadal is such a fighter...Nadal has a lot of Pride..letting this happen to him instead of quitting

Murray takes the title

6-3,4-6,6-0

That last set was so disappointing, 49 people including myself were correct

Recover soon Nadal....

congrats to murray! I'm happy that he won seeing as I was rooting for him. But also a big round of applause for Rafa. He is such a fighter, amazing!!! I did feel bad for him, but a part of me feels like he brought it on himself. Please don't think I'm bashing rafa because I'm not. He's always complaining about the schedule, yet he plays so many matches, I guess its not his fault he's always winning:), but then they're matches like these where he shouldn't have played, but he did, and he got injured, and while I feel bad, I feel like all of this could have been avoided had he not played.

It's not all his fault, theres a certain number of tournaments you have to play and the scheduling is not much better, i believe this is the most convenient for him

yeah, I guess. I know you have to play 4 500 tournaments, but I still think he shouldn't have played this one. I'm not saying its all his fault, just a part of me feels that way. Rafa will definitely bounce back for sure, ready to battle it out.

Looking at the schedule this was probably one of the few ones with proper rest in between. Also, I think ATP might have wanted him for the first ATP WT 500 tournament ever. It's a sad end and I hope he recovers quickly. Still not many expected Rafa to even make it to the finals and that he did, so good showing for him.

Congrats to Murray, of course. He was playing superbly in the first set and lost concentration in the second, but he played well overall.

Good for Murray. A win is a win is a win. Too bad that Nadal wasn't smart enough to stop the play so he would not aggravate his "injury" even more. But I suppose in his oppinion the injury was not that serious. Well, its his call. There is no ref around who can throw in the towel.

Murray does well in the standings. He picks up a clear 500 points and narrows Djokovic's lead to 1150 points. I don't want to go back to my earlier posts but I think I said that Murray can catch up with Djokovic by April 29. This is certainly a start in the right direction.

but will lose some points because he will not participate at Marseille (which i think is an ATP 250 event)

thanks above for pointing out the rule for the news 500's...i didn't know that, but still feel rafa should have skipped this one..maybe it will pay off later in the year when he usually breaks down...does anybody know which other 500's rafa and fed plan to play? (just checked, duba is one so rafa will have two in)

Rafa: Rotterdam, Dubai, and Barcelona. Monte Carlo can fulfill the fourth 500 requirement. However, Rafa is missing a 500 after the US Open which the ruels also require.
Roger: Dubai, Basel, and Tokyo. Not playing Monte Carlo, so doesn't currently have a fourth 500 planned.

Davis cup points can replace some bad 500 points, but not a 0 that you get for not having four or not having one scheduled after the USO. Currently, it seems Rafa/Roger have a 0 for one of their 500 tournys.
