Oh man, I hope Wimbledon wasn't a fluke and that I just suck at predicting BO3 tournaments. :D

Stop misspelling my username in the league files, guys. :mad:

Some updates need to be made on what the winners of WTF Elite 8 Group Competition gets as a bonus for defeating the opponent group.

Here is my suggestion:

The winners of Group Competition may double up the points ONCE on any pick* during the following year.

Rules:

1, You should indicate your double up pick while picking for the day.
2, *You must pick before the Quarter-Finals of the tournament.
3, You must pick it before the WTF. Otherwise, your bonus expires.
4, Your Double pick only counts for Singles not Doubles.

I would like to put this rule in place for current year.

Winners of last year's Group Competition:

@kishnabe
@bezs
@FEDERERNADAL13
@NYKings

Let me know if there is any objection.

You mean like if I pick a correct SINGLE match and set. 5 points would turn into 10?

Do you mean the whole round score is multiplied by 2?

LOL all this time I actually had no idea that I was playing H2H doubles. :D

Not the whole round, only one pick.

Or how about the option to double your winner/runner up score ?

Nice idea but since one does not know how their performance would fare in the tournament, doubling W/RU may become useless.

If others are agreeing with you, then we can do it as per your suggestion.

The doubles is a great thing because you stay alive pretty much in every round. Yukkkks was killing it in the singles this time and their was little chance of a comeback for any of us at the end. The doubles can involve a lot of game strategy epecially at the end. Often its not best to pick who you think will win, but to pick what ensures the win. In singles, I picked Nishikori to win the final in Roger's cup because I didn't feel I lost a lot of ranking points for the year doing so, and if Nishikori won I might jump 4 spots and get good ranking points for this tournament. Its not just picking matches at the end especially in doubles where it is always tight; you must pick to ensure the win.

I don't like this if it is for both W & RU. I'm on board if it's one or the other. Right now Djokovic is dominant and Murray is nearly final dominant. For Australian open for instance, doubling might be almost a 10 point boost. I'm fine if its one or the other and doubling Djokovic for tournament wins or Murray for finals is attractive. I'd assume the doubler would get a 2 points boost if Djokovic loses in the final, but was picked to win.

How are we doing the doubles race this year? I'm doing well enough for the WTF right now, but have been bouncing around partners. Will I just need to partner up with someone else in the top 16 who needs a partner?

And whatever the rest of the people decide for the bonus is ok with me... Doubt I'll even use it!
