ATP cup points - questions

With the new ranking sytem extended to March, I assume the players won't lose any points? Does it also apply to the ATP cup?

Djokovic won all his matches last year and nearly 750 points. This year (only 4 matches against 6 last year) the players can only get (maximum) 500 points. I conclude his total (12,030) will remain the same no matter what?
Conversely, players who lost everything last year (like Zverev or Tsitsipas) have a real shot to improve their totals. Correct or not?

For the Austrlian Open, Djokovic keeps his 2000 points even if he loses in the 1st Round. Nadal can get 1640 points if he wins the trophy. And so on. Can someone confirm this please? That's all I have to ask for now. Thank you

Yeah, unfortunately they stay. Djokovic keeps his big points from last year. Everyone else just gets to improve as the points don't drop.

And yeah, your assessment of AO is also correct.
When does this system end? I mean allowing players to keep their 2020 points? Since Miami wasn't held last year, they have to reset it by March or April, correct?

This is why nobody cares about anything in tennis other than how many slams each player won.
Everything else is too trivial and messy.

Sometime in March. 2019 Indian Wells is set to drop and I think the tour goes back to normal...ish around that time. Basically the exact point where things shut down last year (last week of the season was effectively the week ahead of Indian Wells).
