ATP draws are made by RANDOM LOTTERY DRAWING

i want to poke my eyes out after reading the constant Roddick bashing everytime his draw isn't the toughest draw. These people seem to completely overlook the fact that upsets occured before hand and that's why Roddick (or whoever you want to talk about) didn't play the toughest opponent possible.

People, there are no conspiracies regarding ANY player. The seeds are placed into the draw, and the remaining spots are filled by random, blind, no before-hand knowledge, lottery picks.

I don't care about people bashing Roddick or any other player (Roddick is obviously the #1 target on this board)....but when people are just plain ignorant with their reasons to bash, it makes you want to pull your hair out.

Here is the entry rankings:

Federer, Roger (SUI )
Hewitt, Lleyton (AUS )
Nadal, Rafael (ESP )
Roddick, Andy (USA )
Safin, Marat (RUS )

Tell us how the Number 4 ranked player became the 2nd seek and the number 3 player became the number 4 seed.

And while you are there tell us why Hewitt was not seeded 2nd.

Nadal lost the first round of a grass court event, would that not make Safin the number 4 seed?

Barry, I can't believe you're still trying to argue this. Now you're just being an idiot. You know the seeds were determined by the formula described in the other thread.

barry, I'm sure you know by know exactly how it's done. Let me refresh your memory anyway:

Pos Player Pts Grass formula Total Seed
1 Federer 6985 1975 8955 1
2 Hewitt 3640 380 4020 3
3 Nadal 3600 61.25 3661.25 4
4 Roddick 3590 1262.50 4852.50 2
5 Safin 3195 163.75 3358.75 5

The grass formula this year (identical in 2002, 2004) was:
1. Entry ranking points as of seeding date, plus
2. 100% of grass court tournament points from the previous 52 weeks, plus
3. 75% of single best grass court tournament points from 53-104 weeks ago.

Any questions??

how has he said anything that hasnt been posted here 25 times? he simply stated his opinion, still no real proof either way. if u ppl wanna prove to me its not fixed link me up to info on how i can attend this public draw u all speak of. in the un link posted it looks like its the media and tournament organizers, not exactly public. and yes, un.org is the united nations.

http://www.un.org/av/photo/unhq/tennisdraw250804.htm

u ppl are too funny though, nice chance to pat each other on the back i guess.

Where do you live and what tournament would you like to go to? I'll try to make it happen for you.

Thanks for the link, I had never seen those photos before. That looks like a pretty big room. You see the photographers and the writers in the first few rows (as well as people RANDOMLY pulling names out of the cups for the draw). Since the back of the room is not shown, how can you say that there were no members of the general public there?

By the way, are you a Christian? If so, is it because you SAW Christ die on the cross and rise from the dead 3 days later?

us open please.

if u notice the the link u gave me. picture 1, the shot where the organizers are greeting the press on stage. the same three gentlemen are the same three that are picking the names out of the urn.

picture #7, the names are already on the the piece of paper the guy is copying on to the teleprompter, and it doesnt look like it was hand written.

btw does anyone know if brian early is from florida, he looks familiar i think i used to play his son in the juniors.

your last statement went over my head, sorry

i thought u posted that link for me, u guys all look the same to me i guess :)

You can find out for yourself, do a google search for tennis tournament draw ceremony for past examples. For any tournaments that might be near you, just call and find out when the ceremony is being held. For small tournaments it might not be a ceremony, but tournament officials will be there to supervise. Also, this is gonna stir you up even more, I'm not sure if they are open to the "public", meaning you might need a media credential to get access. I'm not sure about the policies on public access, so don't quote me on that.

i did do the search, but it came up with like 50 pages full of crap.

so they arent public? hehe. thanks for being honest though.

in orlando here we got screwed, they took our only pro tournament and moved it to houston. but before that we had it made, had agassi, sampras, and all sorts of big stars here. i remember when yannick noah bounced an overhead out of the stadium, one of the coolest shots i have seen.

Miami isnt enough for you? I love the Chicago Open.

Okay, you get yourself to New York on time, I'll see if I can get you into the draw ceremony, wherever they have it this year. Let me know when you have purchased your tickets. I'm not lifting one finger until your accomodations and such have been paid for.

Other than that, I'm done with this issue. If some of you want to keep believing the world is flat, go right ahead.

Locker rooms for pro teams i.e. aren't accessible by the general public either. That doesn't prove draw fixing, unless the reporters are in on it also.

He he. (Sarcasm) Just in case Chad & Barry wouldn't get it. I know everyone else would.

I love Chadwixx's logic - we have to prove to him that something is honest - otherwise it's dishonest. I can't wait until Orlando PD pulls him over and asks him to prove that he owns every piece of clothing he's wearing and everything in his pockets.

I'm not happy with the draw - seems like it should be 1 and 4 on one side and 2 and 3 on the other - but that's the way it worked out. And as I've said before - and this is the last time - if they rigged it and it was exposed it would cripple ticket sales, TV ad sales, etc... - no way anyone would risk it.

Andy Hewitt, you're assuming Chadwixx could find his way from Orlando to Miami - I'm not sure he could.

And Fee, I hope you can get him to NYC - then we can look for the clown running around with the sign "The Fix Is In" while foaming at the mouth. :)

i was agreeing with that part.

i still have to decide which comment makes less sense.

a) Locker rooms for pro teams i.e. aren't accessible by the general public either. That doesn't prove draw fixing

or

b) I can't wait until Orlando PD pulls him over and asks him to prove that he owns every piece of clothing he's wearing and everything in his pockets

after reading them at least 5times i still dont understand what u guys are talking about

Just giving you an examples of places the 'general public' aren't allowed,i.e. sidelines of football games, even though football games are open to the public And I did say I wasn't sure. In the rulebook it says draws must be made in public.

Why don't you stop responding to these threads about draw fixing. You and Barry are obviously wrong. Please, let it go.

Chad, here's my explanation and I'm going to type it REALLY SLOWLY so you can grasp it. By your logic the draws are rigged until it's proven to you that they aren't. So I'm saying that until you can prove that you purchased everything in your possession, it's ok for the Orlando cops to ASSume that you're a thief. Ok?
