If Tsitsipas is'nt a top dog on clay then who is ? Just Djokovic and Nadal, who aren't playing currently ?

Tstsipas is a finals clown. He’s not really a top dog cause he can’t ever convert titles and his backhand is a serious liability b. Pressure destroys him every time . Zverevs power will give Carlos all kinds of issues when he’s 100 percent just like it did last year before injury. Djoker will beat him if he plays with pace and obviously sinner is a nightmare for him. Carlos hates redirecting that type of power from the baseline

I’m waiting for the day Sinner places a call to Sampras/Roddick/ retired Isner. The tour is his for the taking

Well I don’t know about the rest of you but there was a lot of great tennis in the Alcaraz v Dimitrov match, especially some of the net play. I enjoyed it and it wasn’t as one sided as expected. Dimitrov played really well in the second set (until he lost his serve to love at the end)

Yes he had chance to take it to third.

Carlos will likely win on Tuesday - he is 25-2 in 2023 so far. Yes, Sasha played well today but against Grenier - not against Carlos or Grigor or a top 20 player - Grenier. So I think Carlos will prevail.

One of the things that has improved for Carlos is he isn't making many double faults - he had ZERO in today's match! He won an average of 75% of all his serve points! I watched his two matches at last year's Madrid Open when he defeated Rafa and then Djokovic and he has improved vastly over this past year! (: (: (:

Unreal drama from ADF. Let him quit the match if he's still ticked off about Hawkeye's decision. Bernardes is so weak it's pathetic. Don't allow a Diva player to delay the match for 5 minutes over his opinion on a mark on court.

There is a Spanish player on court, and no fans in the stands.

It's 10:33 PM, where are the fans?
Im spanish, and mutua madrid open is a joke, only posseurs and famous people go watch that event, in barcelona open theres a much more real tennis atmosphere, in madrid is more like celebrities who dont know a lot about tennis are the ones watching

Great hold from rune, i love net rushes on break points, take the bull by the horns as we say

Wow... Bernardes lecturing Rune at t he changeover, saying "I have experience, just don't do anything to the crowd, don't upset them, please listen to me, I am trying to help you."

The commentators have just explained that Rune rubbed out the disputed mark that ADF was taking issue with and that’s why the crowd have turned on him
Yes, now they're explaining it, but they didn't show it, at least not on the American feed.

Rune has done nothing this match to deserve this and Bernardes sits there doing and saying nothing.
A few things. He needs to be more mature and understand that this is a home court match for ADF, doing ANYTHING can turn the fans against you.

Two, he has a bratty reputation. Most tennis fans know this and will jump on him earlier than other players for certain behavior/actions.
