Tsitsi advances. Hope he can pull off a title finally. The guy needs it.

He will need to play out of his skin to beat Alcaraz here this week, if he does, then he fully deserves it. Carlos is looking dangerous again.

Before thinking about how to beat the rat Tsits has to prove that he is struff enough. I expect that he will be though.

Looked like Zapata-Miralles was doing good. He’s plays a lot better than that. Was probably just tired - had some long 3-setters before this

Incredible effort from zhang. Great match with Fritz. The lion aslan was impressive against meddy too.

Alcaraz thought on another level and felt bad for Zverev. He could do nothing as Alcaraz overall game was working a dream out there.

Not a chance.
Yeah, I think so as well. Will be interesting though, if he manages to at least make it more competitive.

The Madrid courts are faster than Barcelona, right? So they should at least help him with holding serve? But then, not so much on return. And faster courts will allow Alcaraz to push Tsitsipas even further back and make him even more vulnerable for the dropshot.

The courts aren't necessarily that much faster but Madrid is at a high altitude so the air is thinner and thus balls fly faster.

Alright. Even then - I've just looked it up and he's been quite a bit more succesful in Monte Carlo and Barcelona, than Madrid. So probably still no preferable conditions for Tsitsipas. Apart from that Carlos also returned Zverev's first serves really well. So I expect an even bigger defeat than in Barcelona, if the greek even makes it to the final. He still has to defeat Struff, which already troubled him in the past, though it's been a while. But Struff just beat Serbia's current best tennis player..

Rooting for Coric over Atlmaier - glad that Coric is playing better! If he does win and Carlos wins then of course I will be rooting for Carlos on his birthday on Friday! (: (: (: (: (: (:

Tomorrow I will be rooting for the underdogs: Zhang and Struff - but expecting the other two to win...

If I remember right karatsev actually beat struff in the qualifying draw. Now here they are meeting in the semifinals. Has that ever happened before?

Yep just checked, karatsev won 2 and 4.
