Nice win for Zverev, I'd love to see him break seriously into the top tier of contenders this year again.

Yes, but I will never admit it.Out of interest, do you ever want a player to win and believe that the player is probably going to lose?
If Alcaraz wins his quarter final, we have got a massive tasty treat for the semis and the final.
I’m in the UK so I bought a Google chromecast (because my tv wasn’t LG or Samsung) and then I could sign up for Tennis TV which less than half the price of Sky Sports Tennis and the coverage is great. Maybe that could work for you too?Yes, I like Dimitrov a lot, but want Alcaraz to make the semis.
Not that I can watch anyway now that Sky has taken over the tennis from Amazon in the UK ... :/
Well, it can be a burden. Constantly dealing with people that are two steps behind you becomes tiresome after a while...Oh, you're a New Yorker? That explains everything.
That guy got chased out of NY a long time ago...Did someone say "fellow New Yorker?" You New Yorkers are all very perceptive, among many other adjectives.
Moutet scored an underarm serve ace in the very first point of his match against Jarry. I wish more guys had the guts to do it in a big spot.I have to believe this new trend of players returning serve 25 feet or more behind the baseline will disappear. Eventually most players will either learn to hit short spin serves consistently, or will become competent enough at serve and volley to win when the returner is that far back.
Yes, but the thing is, Sinner knew that as well. All the talk of how much more time Med had spent on court before that final, plus Sinner's incredible form, plus every single living soul in Italy suddenly taking an interest in Sinner and putting the weight of their expectations on his back... Sinner came out incredibly tight and conservative. One doesn't need to be a carrot hater in order to acknowledge the simple fact that Med was indeed gassed and tired.
Seriously? The guy's tennis isn't the best to watch (not even close), and by all accounts he is a complete jerk. So why?Nice win for Zverev, I'd love to see him break seriously into the top tier of contenders this year again.
Yes I used to have tennis TV, but I can't really afford another streaming subscription at the moment. Perhaps I should cancel Amazon prime, or maybe I'll go with tennis TV for the occasional tournament.I’m in the UK so I bought a Google chromecast (because my tv wasn’t LG or Samsung) and then I could sign up for Tennis TV which less than half the price of Sky Sports Tennis and the coverage is great. Probably just a sample size quirk since he's getting so many firsts into play, but in his first three matches here Zverev actually had a higher win-% behind his second serve than his first. It looks like Zverev has finally scraped all all of the rust since his injury at the '22 FO. He's clicking on all cylinders. Also, he's figured out his serving. He's not going quite as big. But I cannot remember the last time he double-faulted.
Zverev is very dangerous now.
It was a great ending. Probably better than the mens matches will be.For how many more hours are Azarenka and Rybakina going to play, exactly?
ZZzzzz
..and Zedrot's got a winning record against the showboating, grunting, massively hyped Spaniard, which is what I like.Probably just a sample size quirk since he's getting so many firsts into play, but in his first three matches here Zverev actually had a higher win-% behind his second serve than his first.
He definitely doesn't double fault like he used to, and can bang in close to or even upwards of 75% of first serves on the reg. They're not usually line-lickers, so he's not necessarily racking up the aces, but still, that's a lot of pressure to put on a returner. Definitely dangerous.
Just joining, unusual to see Carlos so frustrated!
I missed it.Nice win for Zverev, I'd love to see him break seriously into the top tier of contenders this year again.
Very, very good. Now we gotta get Dim over the finish line, too.I missed it.
Miami Zed moves on.
Go, Shapovalov!
I really think theres very little he could have done today, yeah he went out a bit passive and unagressive, but dimitrov figured the match and the conditions out perfectly, he was taking everything on the rise and hitting winners left and right, Carlos was spinning the shots too much and these balls and court are not bouncy, dimi was getting shoulders height shots the whole match, he unleashed and had the dayTerrible tactics from Carlos, if he played on the front foot like in the game he broke he might've won.
As I predicted, but did not expect such an utterly dominance. Carlos is lucky he did not get a breadstick in the 2nd set…Hurkacz is not getting to Alcaraz. He is 0:4 against Dimitrov and is usually helpless against him.
I think Alcaraz will have more problems against Dimitrov because of his variety - he got dominated the last time they played
It will be interesting to see if Jarry or Machac can pull off an upset today.
All I care about is Carlos making it to the final and winning the tournament!!!!!!! VAMOS CARLITOS!!!!!!
VAMOS CARLITOS!Yeah.....about that...
No he had that the other night 0, 1 against hanfmann. This is a trend.Every pro athlete probably has one day/night when they are completely in the zone and play the game/match of their life. This one is Dimitrov's.
He absolutely loses to Zed because the world is a cruel stupid place full of stupid cruel people.Well I did say Alcaraz had the trickiest QF, but didn't expect this result - well done Dimi! Would love to see him win the tournament now, but I think it's more likely that he loses to Zed now ...
Schadenfreude is the very best feeling.Yeah.....about that...
Ooh, nice n' dry.VAMOS CARLITOS!
