It's depressing man. I'm depressed.

I look forward to next week, when you inevitably pick him to win Madrid and get my hopes up again.
Honestly @Baseline_Bungle i think this is it for me. Think it’s all psychological. Love the guy and want the best for him but this was the last hurdle tbh and not joking. Want him to win it but don’t think he will. I’m seriously depressed

He should’ve won the USO. I don’t care what anyone says, it should’ve been his. He didn’t believe in himself enough. That would’ve been a serious catalyst for further success into 2023

@Baseline_Bungle i take time away from studies to watch his matches and he keeps disappointing me. Until he figures out himself whether technical or psychological I’ll keep supporting him but I’m just tired of seeing him fall short

In his comments to the Italian press after the match, he let it slip that he felt this tournament was his for the taking. Clearly, the sudden drop after the 1st set was caused by the jitters of seeing the finish line within reach. But from there, the match turned. He still had his chances - and blew them - but in sets 2 and 3 Rune looked like the superior player overall.

Definitely I’m giving all credit to Rune but I felt Sinner didn’t serve well at all in the whole match, yes even in set 1 where he won 6-1

Indeed - the serve remains the number 1 issue. And especially towards the end, when it REALLY mattered, he just could not buy a first serve. Rune's SECOND serve was also in a different league. But honestly, even the clear superiority in baseline rallies was long gone by that point.

Yeah and I just keep seeing the same pattern in his tight losses. In the Alcaraz match he couldn’t serve it out in set 4, at the USO. In the Tsitsipas match he could hardly put a first serve in in the final set, though Tsitsipas served immaculately and also in the IW SF
