Have to say that’s a pretty entertaining draw, happy with that.

There’s a ton of guys with a lot to play for here - at the top, Djokoraz for YE #1, and a 5 man race for 3 spots in Turin: Ruud, Rune, Tsits, Hurkacz, Fritz, Zverev all in the mix.

Obviously Shelton-Djokovic rematch would be fun especially with the jump Shelton has made post-USO, and then the possibility of a Djokovic-Rune finals rematch too in the QF.

Interesting to see how Fils plays in his native Paris, I’d probably make him favorite over Fritz in current form, would be a cracker between him and Rune.

Then you’ve got likely Sinner in the SFs although his quarter is boring.

On the other side though, Dimitrov Medvedev rematch in the 2nd round would be great, some fun potential early rounders, and then seeing Carlos really make a push for YE #1 will be intriguing.

Carlos would’ve dreaded Sinner indoors

This draw is spicy.

Poor Casper gets Monfils/Cerundolo after a bye. Then either Lehecka/Korda/Hurkacz next.

Tiafoe also gets the shaft. Bublik round 1. Jarry/Popyrin rd 2. Then one of Musetti, Dimitrov, Medvedev rd 3. Brutal on indoor fast courts.

Overall this should be a good one. Glad to see Rune is coming back into decent form. Had a tough match with the sand flea last today.

Good draw for Nole, imo. He avoids Medvedev, Zverev and Hurkacz, to me they were the most dangerous opponents!
Can Sinner make the SF? He lost early in Cincinnati and Shanghaï after his Toronto/Beijing wins. And his trackrecord in Paris isn't really good... in fact he has never won a match there (1st round to Alcaraz in 2021 and Hüssler in 2022). I'm glad Djokovic got Sinner instead of Medvedev.
Maybe a rematch of the 2022 final in QF, between Djokovic and Rune. Will be a blockbuster match if it happens. But Rune is having some tough matches in Basel this week... May not be very fresh if he makes the QF in Paris...
Djokovic/Shelton could also be a great blockbuster match. But Shelton has zero experience in Indoors so let's see if he can get past ADF and Griekspoor first. Don't rejoice too fast if you already expect to see that match.

Look at how much more interesting this tournament is in the early rounds. They very much need to drop slams to 16 seeds.

Truly hope for a Sinner-Djokovic QF just to see how well is Sinner doing against him after improving many aspects of his game.

Re-tooling, maybe? Will he unveil a new, unflustered Shapo in January? Would love to see it.
Well, we can hope for the best- I sure will. The kid can sure play when he sets his mind to it.
His mind might be on other very human activities around now, though.

Great lineup in the doubles with heaps of singles players in action along with the top doubles teams.

Some big names:
Sinner/Wawrinka playing together
Djokovic/Kecmanovic! (possible pairing ahead of the Paris Olympics next year??)
Lehecka/Shelton
Melo/Zverev back together again
Felix and Korda
Khachanov and Rublev who made the final here in 2019 and won Madrid earlier this year are back!

Davis Cup coming up for Serbia. Novak wants to win it. Doubles will be very important.

Happy Botic made it through qualification. If Shelton reaches Djokovic I expected a much more subdued interaction between the two. It seems Ben has now learned how the pros on the Tour interact with each other so no US college tennis antics anymore for Ben

A lot of interesting matches early at Paris this year. We'll see if it all melts down into Djokovic-Alcaraz, but I can always hope for someone to step up. Love that the old man can still win, but really want new blood rising.
