Dimitrov becomes the 12th unseeded player to make the finals of the Paris Masters since 1990 joining (bold type indicates a winner): Safin (1999), Henman and Pavel (2003), Stepanek (2004), Berdych (2006), Nalbandian (2007), Janowicz (2012), Isner (2016), Krajinovic (2017), Khachanov (2018), Shapovalov (2019), Rune (2022).
2016 was very weak.

Great set from Rublev, clearly the better player there. Novak pretty bad on his serve (lost at least 2 points in each game). Funny how complete Rublev game is from the baseline now compared to what Tsitsipas was doing in the match before.

The serve is the only thing that kept Djokovic in the set. His ground game isn't great today.

Rublev playing like peak Thiem here. All the full power shots and net cords going in. It's really impressive how much better he got this year.

Another massive hold! Novak’s starting to wake up but Rublev has stepped up to the challenge so far. Still feels like he’s living on borrowed time. Novak’s going to break through eventually if he keeps getting these chances.

We will see. Rublev deserves more respect than he gets on here. The guy is playing great.

I think he doesn't get the respect because his game does seem to hit a peak around QF/SF level. It reminds me of how Ferrer used to be in the Big 4 era. Someone who is like the gatekeeper between the top players and the journeymen. Still, beating Djokovic here would be huge and Dimitrov isn't unbeatable. A 2 masters season for Rublev would be great!

Djokovic will, again, get away with it. He seems very vulnerable, but those guys simply don’t have what it takes.
Rublev is spraying mistakes.

I don't know if this is some anti jinx but Rublev is clearly the better player today. Djokovic is holding on with his serve.
He’s a Nadal fan. He’s anti jinxing like crazy. He making out like rublev doesn’t even win points against Novak. Rublev has beat him before and took sets off him more than most players in the game.

He’s waking up in this second set. Starting to rally better from the baseline. He’s been holding easily while Rublev’s been barely hanging on the last few games. I think the tide has definitely turned, though if Rublev can play one clutch return game or tiebreak he might still be able to snag this one. We’ll see.

Yea I mean unless Djokovic can find his groundstrokes, him going home is looking pretty likely. He's very lazy with his footwork which is why he's missing so much and mistiming so many shots.

Agreed. Novak needs a wake up call from time to time. Today though he’s been fine physically but just outplayed. Rublev game when on is great to watch and his FH is a killer.

Novak's gotten screwed on challenges 2 days in a row now. But it's also hard to feel bad for him since his balls actually were out both times and deserved to lose the point both times.

It doesn't look like the tide has turned to me. At least not yet. Rublev is still serving a high percentage and much more cleaner off the ground, while being aggressive.

Djokovic with 20 UEs on the backhand side. I thought his backhand was getting better this year after some decline, but this is as bad as I have seen him hitting it.

It's been the biggest problem when having to hit a backhand from a deep ball close to the baseline. Rublev doing so good in cc bh department today translates to ton of errors from Novak on that side.
