As per rule its allowed. He did the walkover which is equivalent to losing.
He knew he would get the LL as the highest ranked qualifier and there were two withdrawals viz. Mensik and Bonzi.

So he quit the match as he will get the LL. Morally wrong though.

Alcaraz can wrap up year end no. 1 here. He is leading by 2000 points in the race. And atp finals provide max 1500 points.
All alcaraz need to do is to stay within 500 points of Sinner earned in paris, making the finals would gurrantee it regardless of Sinner result

A loophole that needs closing imo. Very shady

LOL, behind the spectators at Altmeier Giron match, there is a player practicing serve on the court next door.

Altmeier has more positive body language, more confidence and more clutch. Finished Giron with an ace.

Better luck next time Giron.

Altmeier 33 winners, Giron 25 winners.

La Defense... a lot of memories from that place. One time at the La Defense station, a French guy actually asked me which train goes to Château de Vincennes. Lol, I was a first time tourist in Paris and a French guy asked me for direction, lmao.

Camera position / technique in Centre Court is just as awful or even more maybe compared to the previous venue
The court width is larger than the court length on screen, ridiculous
Agreed! It was the first thing I noticed. Really gives a horrible perspective of the shots as a result.

I thought because of that they changed the rules a few years ago, so that the highest ranked loser cannot just lose on purpose (possibly even in agreement with the opponent).

At least that's what I heard, that there is a random choice between at least 3 or so of the highest ranked players. And that would exactly make sense to avoid these situations AND still reward rankings to some degree.

So did they get back to the old rule then?
