This event really has gotten a serious glow-up from moving into this building. Second biggest Centre Court in the game now, I think.

Not really surprising, I made a prediction after he last lost to FAA in Cincy in 2022 that he would never beat Sinner again, let’s see how it goes

Sinner wasn't even at his best here. You could see he was feeling it a bit, but still, it was a clean match from him. FAA I don't think can play much better, Sinner is just a better player. Only Alcaraz is on his level, everyone else is chasing.

Guys this match was really good and Felix played a really good fighting match against Satannik(ATG), congratulations to the border italian austrian conquest.

FAA really surprised me with his backhand today, but I noticed that the speed off both wings were way lower than normal (for Sinner) that is. But yes, FAA pretty much played at his ceiling while I felt Sinner didn’t, albeit I think he served really well today

@Hitman and if IIRC, Sinner actually had 2 match points in his match against FAA in Cincy and actually got breadsticked in the deciding set, and I remember how emotional Sinner was after the loss- he cried off the court, which is why I made the prediction

Felix played a good match, I think he did as good as he can. But Sinner despite not playing his best, still straight set him in the end. But Felix isn't alone in this, everyone outside of Alcaraz are a clear level below Sinner, even when he is not playing his A game.

I see the Sinner pre Beijing 2023 as a different player than the one that arrived in Beijing 2023.

Indeed that was one of the most painful losses in his career. Having 2 match points the end up getting wiped away in the deciding set is truly heartbreaking

You really think so? I think he could break the record for the most ATP finals titles
Just has to stay healthy. And not get any more doping bans. He’s just too efficient. It’ll be like Nadal vs. Djokovic and Federer in terms of time at number one – at best. Probably a lot fewer weeks at number one than that for Carlos, actually.

Sinner could beat PETE’s 6 consecutive year-end no. 1 finishes. Carlos just isn’t consistent enough to keep pace, even in his most consistent year yet.
I think Pete stopped shouting about 6 ye 1 ..after novak bested him, though not consecutive.

Sinner is less likely to get no. 1 this year. Unless alcaraz messes up badly. Otherwise nobody beats alcaraz in round robin and sinner will be in other group

I like his chances of equaling or surpassing the ATP finals record of 7 titles

Sinner didnt bring his A+ game, but that had to be his A game at least. His forehand was on fire as the stats showed.

This was close and almost everyone was expecting a blowout.

For all his improvements recently, FAA has gone 0-3 against Sinner since August.
That's not an indictment of FAA, he just doesn't have the talent to ever bother Sinner too much outside of making matches merely competitive if FAA is on his A game.
It's a boring tour now, nobody is remotely close to Sinner or Alcaraz now. The only time there's an upset is when Alcaraz decides to not take a match seriously, Sinner just simply terminates everybody outside of Alcaraz.

Alcaraz has a losing record in Turin. Last year he got breadsticked by Ruud of all people. Even if he matches his 2023 result (2-1 in RR, loss in the semis) he’ll finish the year at number two.

I mean it’s in his control, obviously, but given form and conditions, etc, it’s gotta be at least 60-40 that Jannik ends the year number one. Probably more like 70-30.

Yeah, it's pretty much locked in for Sinner. Sinner is determined to have YE#1, nobody is even close to him on indoor hard courts and Alcaraz has phoned it in for 2025. Turin is a foregone conclusion. Alcaraz likely doesn't make it out of the Round Robin.

And had Sinner played the 3 months he missed, it wouldn’t be a contest. Sinner would’ve been outright number 1. Would’ve won Dubai, Sunshine double + Madrid IMO

Very possible.

I think there’s a very, very real chance that Sinner goes down as the hard court GOAT. Which is nuts, considering just how far ahead of everyone Federer and Djokovic have seemed for so long now. Health is probably the biggest obstacle. Sinner seems a bit more brittle than Federer and post-2011 Novak.

True. I mean I don’t feel bad for him that he missed those months. His own physio rubbed him down with a banned substance – he’s lucky he didn’t get two years. But next year the gap in points will probably be a lot wider.

I understand you. It is basically the Sinner-Alcaraz show at the moment.

Its going to take something very special in 2026 to change that. They are going to devour the big titles between them unless someone can step up.

I don’t like the USO court conditions for him, or at least how they played this year. It was very high bouncing. Let’s see if they make any changes. If it keeps the same bounce as it had this year, he will lose a few finals to Alcaraz, but if it’s low bouncing, he pounces IMO. Think AO and Wimbledon will be his 2 best slams

I have him pegged for 2 or 3 slams + 4 masters + WTF for 2026
