Another failed volley by Yi Zhou.

GSM De Jong.

Goodbye Labubu lol.

I think that is Thiemo De Bakker. I'm sure.

Yeah, I was correct the first time. That is Thiemo De Bakker. Jesper De Jong said that De Bakker is his coach in Bastad this year:

“My coach (Thiemo De Bakker) was a finalist here in 2013, so I’ve gone one better today! I’m super happy to be in the final for the first time in my career. It got a bit tense at the end of the second set, but I managed the tiebreak well,” said Jesper De Jong after his win.

It's great to see so many people watching this match on the outside court, they must be big fans of Royer Fedeyer.

Dang, epic ohbh return winner by Kova. deuce again.

WOWWWW epic rally with inside out fh winner to finish by Shang.

MP Shang again.

3rd retirement of the day in Shanghai with Medjedovic now retiring while up a set. Insane.

Players are clearly right when they say the schedule is too much. This follows the 3 retirements last week in Beijing where Mensik and Musetti retired in the QF and Medvedev retired in the SF.

This is becoming a farce now.

In Medjedovic's case, he needs to finally drop the beer gut and get fitter.

You do understand this is about nothing else, but recovery from an injury? No one gives a damn about "points" until he is fully healthy.
Plenty of people care about the #1 ranking. It's a fun aspect of the sport.

Carlos' fragile body could become an issue, though.

I keep saying that some player ranked 125-200 should just take a long break before the Asia swing, then come in fresh and just start collecting huge bags of points.

But I agree, this whole section of the season, on both the men's and women's sides, is like a strange sideshow.

Tennis is destroying itself.
