There is something off with medvedev’s form/technique on serve. Like how does one his height continue to struggle on first and second serves?
Medvedev won all of his service points in the first three games of the third set—12 points total—plus the first two points of his fourth service game. That’s 14 consecutive points on serve. After that, his level dropped.
What cost him was his poor break point conversion: just 1 out of 11.
Medvedev won three more points than Rinderknech over the course of the match, despite winning four fewer games..
Rinderknech served 111 points, while Medvedev served only 78. Rinderknech had to work harder to hold serve.

What you’re describing then is mass inconsistency. And normally that’s a problem when it comes to form and technique. His serve breaks down too easily.

...and now the beloved cousins will destroy each other!...although I would prefer the VΛVΛ, I believe in the end, the old man, the 30 yo, will lift the trophy...2-1...

A who vs. who final, a Masters final? I know Rinderknech but, still, who? What is going on with the ATP Tour? I keep saying this but I have no idea if anybody outside of Sincaraz including Djokovic now apparently is any good. Wild stuff
Good for the finalists but ATP is in a really weird place now.

It symbolizes and encapsulates just how weak next was/is that they can't even win sand Sinnercraz and Oldovic. Sad.

...the best possible final there in shang-hai !...
...finally! ...the tour is starting to get interesting! ...that's how unpredictable & subversive I would like every major tournament to be...4 slams-4 different winners out of nowhere...from beyond!
...no more sincaraz or alkanerovic ! ...cheers !

He really doesn’t that’s why I think he should. He’s getting weaker and I expect more of these lower ranked losses next year. He’s human after all
That a fair prediction. As I said I still wasn’t confident he’d win this despite his draw opening up and seeds falling.

I think his best chance to win is atp 250 events but whether he plays them enough is another matter.

If he carries in my personal opinion is he should target a few of them. He only has to try win 4 matches and he can try go to places with very barren field.

If he wants to stop though I’d totally support that too. Up to him.

He playing Athens next an atp 250 in November.

What was Medvedev complaining to the chair about immediately after match point?
I heard something like this from Meddy to the ump: "I haven't won a tournament since Rome in freakin' 2023! Explain yourself!! Every time I failed to return his serve, I lost the point. What's up with that? Tell me!"

Always a like for Les Visiteurs

By winning the Shanghai Masters doubles Kevin Krawietz basically managed to complete his career. A masters title was the last "piece" missing.

In winning 2025 Shanghai, Vacherot becomes:

1. The 1st player from Monaco to win an ATP singles title.
2. The lowest ranked player to win a Masters 1000 title since the series began in 1990.
3. The 5th active player this season to win his maiden Masters 1000 title (after Draper, Mensik, Ruud and Shelton).
4. One of just 3 qualifying players to win a Masters 1000 title along with Carretero (1996 Hamburg) and Portas (2001 Hamburg)
5. One of 2 unseeded players to play a Masters 1000 final for only the 3rd time since the series began in 1990.
6. One of just 5 players to win his maiden title at Masters 1000 level.
7. One of just 2 active players to win his maiden title at Masters 1000 level along with Mensik (2025 Miami).
8. One of 23 active players to win at least 1 Masters 1000 title.
9. One of 85 players to win at least 1 Masters 1000 title since the series began in 1990.
10. One of 23 active players to win at least 1 big ATP title.
