Murray match was a bummer. Murray wasn’t that sharp, but also I think Lajovic played at the top of his game.

If Sinner meets Alcaraz in the SF - I hope he gives a better account for himself. Picking him to take it home hopefully

All the old guys from the Nadal/Djokovic generation have declined quite a bit except for the Big 2. What strange magic is this?

Good to see talentless Isner bow out to young gun Nava. Says it all about the massive advantage those trees have, when a 97 year old Isner can hang in those matches and take em to a breaker. Unfortunately for him, the rest of his game is useless

I feel Monfils could retire at the French Open this year.

Not sure about Isner he did reach the Dallas Open final, to be able to make ATP 250 finals means you still have some gas left, he is also 45th in the World but his overall results have declined as of late.

Murray - Wimbledon 2014 is my prediction when he'll retire.

Fognini is struggling and his ranking is dropping, if he doesn't start winning matches he'll drop out of the top 100, perhaps the Rome Masters could be where he retires this year.

2022 had many mainstays retire, 2023 will sadly be the same....also think of Thiem, he might be 29 but he's only won 1 match this year, losing all the time really hurts your confidence and motivation.

Court in Hard Rock stadium seems to play faster than that of IW (which is big plus in my eyes). But what the hell is with ball bouncing & flying rather high so moonballs are quite common Idk if it’s camera angle.

Granted Murray was not at his best, but what a beautiful all court performance from Dusan Lajovic . Bit chokey as always , broken when serving for the match, But those FH s (double count of winners:oops:) ,well placed serves , nice BHs outshined it. Best played HC match by Dusan since dazzling tennis he produced in Sydney at ATP Cup 3 years ago

I could see it. I remember the really nice ceremony at Roland Garros for Tsonga. I'd think Monfils, even if his career wasn't as good, he was a big enough French tennis fixture and he achieved enough to warrant something similar.

Murray retiring in 2014? Do you have some sort of time machine we don't know about? Going to head back a decade and talk him into hanging it up?

Fognini is baffling. He's always looked like he doesn't really care, but his ranking and results were decent enough. Watching him now is even stranger in terms of figuring out his motivation.

And I don't see Thiem walking away anytime soon. 29 is still relatively young these days, and what else is he going to do? He needs to just have a couple of beers before a match and let rip.

Commentators were saying Sonego had failed to win a single match in his last 5 M1000 events.

Just checked. He won R64 at MC last year. Then 5 straight losses.

It amazes me that TTW posters have already forgotten that Fed was #2 in the rankings when he was 37 y.o. and was considered a genius by his fans.

It's bad enough that we have to see Thiem in this state, and on top of that this Sonego guy is ugh..
Hey, what's wrong with Sonni? He seems like the absolute nicest guy in interviews, and he is just out there doing his thing, making the most of what he has and maximizing his time at this level. Watching him in Rome is 'must see' tennis.

Well, not surprisingly (they are Djokovic cronies, after all), they did it in just about the dumbest way possible. Trying to conceal it from view, and then looking around with the most guilty faces imaginable. If they just mixed it up like it was a sports drink, nobody would even pay attention.

What have they done out of Miami open, shame.
This place is so stale and uninteresting.
Crandon park was much more authentic.
On this I agree 100%. This parking lot tournament feels awful. And when you think that they did this to appeal to some lame Miami types that don't know the first thing about tennis, it just makes it that much worse.

I don't know he may be nice guy off court, but during his matches i always root for the oponent.

Key Biscayne had the Miami vibe and atmosphere of some of the matches there was electric.

Loool what an epic win by the lucky loser Kokki after saving several match points! Bergs will be having a nightmare tonight regretting those failed match points.
