I know they want to put the star players on TV, but this is like watching someone kick a puppy. I’d rather see a competitive match of two mid-ranked players.
Totally agree. They do the same thing with Big 3 first round matches at the slams, and then they wonder why casual fans have no idea who the #10 ranked player in the world is.

Major blackout on the video feeds from Miami, all courts dark... is it still visible in the US?
Yeah, mine went dark for a while there too. Back now though.

Carlos did win indian wells without droping a set, and only losing serve twice... just unreal

He's incredible. Unless he loses interest, he should win this tournament without dropping a set.
I think it’s exciting for tennis that we finally have the guy that is now good enough to challenge and maybe dethrone djokodal. We been waiting for it and he’s arrived. As it will be interesting to see how Djokovic and Nadal try deal with this big problem they have. It’s going to make every tournament coming up more interesting and unpredictable.

Lets be honest, unless djokodal are in top form, they should lose to alcaraz, he is too fast and hits too hard, the pity is that they are too old and they are not going to compete directly against carlos at least for too long, this year at slams i hope that we get some good matches at least

Alcaraz proving once more why he’s the man to beat in tennis right now. A very empathic win again!
I just hope he doesn't overplay until RG. He needs to take some tournament off, whether it's MC, Barcelona, Madrid or Rome. He needs to sit out MC and be as fresh as possible in June. He can't really tank Miami since he's defending 1000 points there.

Yeah this is true. It’s likely they might not be able to handle alcaraz peak level as they past their bests. However, they are legends of the sport so can never be discounted. I see some close battles still until alcaraz truly takes over and start regularly beating them.

It seems like you were more impressed by Carlos than Holger after watching them in person at Indian Wells. Not a surprise. Time to change your avatar?

What kind of form do you think Djokovic was in at the AO especially in the last few rounds? Top form?

I agree. If he smart he can maybe do similar to last year. In the sense of playing MC, Barcelona, Madrid and maybe skip or tank Rome to save energy for RG. We will see but no doubt himself, Ferrero and his team will have a smart plan so he peaks at right time.

Rune's going to wilt in the heat and run out of gas in the 3rd or 4th round, maybe earlier. Guy needs some fitness.
Rune practices like a demon 5-6 hours every day (look at his legs or his social media).

He has some physical issue like Novak had before the "Gluten" discovery. Rune is incredibly fit, runs a 10K on MC streets in 35 minutes. He has some physical issue which prompts cramps. That will eventually be sorted out. Rune literally puts in Thiemesque practice sessions.

Yes, but then he lost in dubai, anything less than final rounds of aus open is gonna stand little chance against alcaraz on paper, nadal we dont know what form to expect, it could be great or could be poor, but still, peak for peak, today, i see alcaraz peak higher than djokovic, but you know anythingcould happen, i feel like if we are gonna have some disputed matches between the two its got to be this year, next year it could be too late

They don't have a problem - they're basically Finnish. EVERYONE ELSE has a problem. Unless a few Spanish-style labs start getting to work around the world, the rest of the field will be eating dust for a decade, or more.

He didn't peak for RG last year. Though admittedly his injury was an accident on the court, I'm not really sold on his team's planning.

Hoping that his recent injuries make them pace his season like it should be paced.

Rune takes the first set from Fucsovics 6-3. Playing better than at IW but still making a ton of UE's. 8/8 at net though.

Weird that Tennis Channel is showing Zverev against Taro Daniel while the higher ranked young star Rune is late in a tough set. I am watching the Rune match on TC+.

Rune gets through, not impressively though.
Holger's form is trash compared to late last year. His on court body language is really negative as well. If he meets Alcaraz in 4R, forget about a win unless he suddenly catches fire.
